If the data is not valid, an error message is displayed indicating what
data is invalid. The invalid data can then be edited or deleted.
Insert

(Available only when no component is selected in the insertion list.) Use the Insert option to verify the validity of the component data when creating a new component insertion. Using the Insert option is the same as pushing the [Enter] key when defining a new component insertion.
To insert a component in the insertion list:
1
Perform steps 1 through 9 in the New procedure earlier in this module.
2
When the component data has been defined, select the Component menu bar heading.
3

An insertion can also be added to the insertion list by pushing the [Enter] key instead of selecting Component > Insert from the menu.
If the data is valid, the component is added to the insertion list.

If the data is not valid, an error message is displayed indicating what data is invalid. The invalid data can then be edited or deleted.
Alter
(Available only when a component is selected in the insertion list.) Use the Alter option to change an existing component insertion.
To alter a component insertion:

Select Yes to delete the component insertion. A message indicates the selected components were deleted.
5
Select OK .
Copy
Use the Copy option to duplicate selected component insertions. This is done by providing X, Y, and Theta offset values which offset the duplicate components from the originals at the defined increments.

X Offset: The increment in the X direction that the duplicate component is inserted from the original.

Y Offset: The increment in the Y direction that the duplicate component is inserted from the original.

Theta Offset: The degree of rotation that is added to the rotation of the original component to determine the rotation of the duplicate component.
To copy a component insertion:
1
Select the component insertion(s) to be copied.
2
Select the Component menu bar heading.
3

Select the Copy menu option. The Copy Placement(s) dialog box is displayed.
4
Enter the X, Y, and Theta offset values.
5
Select OK to copy the selected component insertion. A new component insertion is added to the list with a numeric reference ID assigned by the Product Editor.
Select All
Use the Select All option to select all component insertions in the insertion list. Other component options, such as copy or delete, can then be used.

Select Invalid
Use the Select Invalid option to select all invalid component insertions. These invalid component insertions can then be edited or deleted. An invalid component is defined as having some invalid insertion data. Examples of invalid data include X or Y coordinates which are outside the board parameters, a theta value not in 90 degree increments, insertion span too large or small, or invalid depth stop.
To select invalid components from the insertion list:
1
Select the Component menu bar heading.
2
Select the Select Invalid menu option. Any component insertions in the insertion list with invalid data are highlighted in red. (Insertion List window for Radial machine shown.)
These invalid component insertions can then be edited or deleted. Refer to the Recover From Invalid Insertion for information about fixing an invalid insertion.
