The main function of EDI is to remove ions from treated water of reverse osmosis and other purification equipment. High quality EDI module can manufacture ultrapure water of 18.0 MΩ.CM continuously.

EDI feedwater conditions:
water source: output of reverse osmosis, electric conductivity rate: 1-20μS/cm, best electric conductivity: ≦50μS(sodium chloride)
PH value: 505--9.5(when PH is between 7.0 and 8.0, the electric conductivity is the best.)
Temperature: 15℃ - 35℃, the best temperature is 25℃.
Feedwater pressure: 0.20 - 0.4MPa, D1 end pressure is higher than C1, which is 0.005-0.1MPa, the module pressure is up to the flow and temperature.
Effluent pressure: output end (D2) pressure is higher than strong water end(C2), which is 0.05-0.1MPa.
Hardness: less than 1.0ppm( when the recovery rate is 90%), calculate with CaCO3.
Organics: total organic carbon is less than 0.5ppm.
Oxide: active chlorine(Cl2) is less than 0.05ppm, ozone is less than 0.02ppm.
Heavy metal ion: less than 0.01ppm, transitional metal ions, such as ferrum, manganese.
Silicon: less than 0.5ppm, typical range of RO output is 50-150ppb.
Total carbon oxide: less than 5ppm, higher than 10ppm, the output quality is most reliable to the level of carbon oxide and PH value.
Particle: suggest that use the RO output directly or the output after filtration with 1μm filter element, then enter into EDI system.
