PEARLY RED Technology: Controlled Photosynthetically Active Radiation to stimulate Plant Growth

Near RED light make plants grow.

VULCAN PEARLY RED filters out Far Red Light* (735nm) which hinders plant growth and keeps Phytochromes activating near red light (665nm), Plants grow when the phytochromes are exposed to near red light, whereas exposure to far-red light halts the growth process.

PEARLY RED pigment have particle sizes in the range of 5~25μm, and is tailored to have a transmission spectrum that matches photosynthesis requirements of vegetation quite closely.

VULCAN Polycarbonate Corrugated and Solid Pearly RED sheets have an eye catching Reddish / Greenish Hue, and is specially designed for plants and vegetation. The special Pearly RED pigment filters out unwanted far Infrared and keeps the near red light which plants need for better growth.  Additional weather Resistant properties ensure a longer lifespan.

VULCAN Polycarbonate Pearly RED pigment creates a significant drop in temperature (Depending on the individual application conditions, rooms are up to 7°c cooler compared to non-pigmented systems)

Since Pearly RED was specially designed for optimal plant grow, it focuses more on it's ability to control Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR).

Pearly RED Coating

• With particle sizes ranging from 5nm~25nm, the Pearly RED pigment is tailored to have a transmission spectrum that matches photosynthesis requirements of vegetation quite closely. The result is cool greenhouses and other enclosed ambients.

Heat Reflective Properties: 

• Controlled NIR (700~2500nm): Temperature drop of 7°c depending on the relative temperature and humidity.

Light Transmission Rate:

• Controlled PAR (400~700nm): Excellent shading Properties - 56% light transmission rate.

Production Method

• Co-Extrusion ensures evenly spread, evenly thick base material and UV coating. (A chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link.)

Base Material

• 100% Virgin UV included raw material ensures that your sheets can withstand harmful UV rays for at least one year.

UV400 Coating

Co-extruded with the Base Material, our Optical Grade UV400 resin from Sumitomo Dow Chemicals Co., LTD (Now Sumitomo Styron), blocks harmful UV rays from 280~400nm. With UV400 coating, VULCAN Polycarbonate sheets are able to last 10 years or more.

VULCAN Polycarbonate Pearly RED Sheets comes in 4 different Corrugated Profiles - ROMA, TRIMDEK, GRECA, MINI and 2 different Solid Profiles - SOLID FLAT and SOLID EMBOSSED/TEXTURED.

VULCAN Polycarbonate Sheets can be made to order and cut to length as per customer request.

Any specification of either profile within their respetive production range on the Profile Table above can be produced.

Minimum Order Quantity is 10 tons per profile.

All sheets are co-extruded with SD Polyca Optical Grade UV400 coating and are warranted for 10yrs under normal circumstances*.
