The latest generation twin shaft grinder designed specifically for efficient treatment of abrasive sludges. The cantilevered cutter shafts on the TR are set at an angle to the incoming flow. This design is more effective in capturing irregular shaped objects and, if a rejection cycle is necessary, the object can drop into the built-in trash trap set clear of and below the cutter stacks.
Capacity range 0-2200 USgpm (0-500m3/h) raw sewage, operating pressure up to 87 psi (6 bar).
- Cantilever shaft design, completely eliminates bottom seals and bearings providing substantial savings on ongoing maintenance costs.
- Layback cutter shafts ensures any rejected material drops clear of the shafts preventing damage.
- Pull back bearing housing allows easy removal without disturbing the pipeline for routine maintenance.
- Trash trap with clean-out ports to remove and clean any rejected solids.
Pump Protection: A single Muncher installed before duty and standby pumps, will macerate solids within a flow, prevent blockages and allow optimum efficiency of the pumps.
Sludge: The Muncher is used widely for the fine grinding of sludge, imported by road tankers from outlying rural treatment works. The Muncher macerates the sludge to a homogeneous product, which will improve digestion plant efficiency.
Industrial: Many industrial processes require wet in-flow macerating. From chicken waste to oil platform drill cuttings, Munchers can be installed to reduce bulk and protect process equipment.
