Brick mold
Introduction of Brick Mold:
1. A brick mold is indispensable in all kinds of brick making machine, and it is basically just a piece of wood which fills the gap between the door or window where it will fit, and the masonry or wall of the house itself. A brick mold can be constructed out of plain lumber.
2. Depending on the need and size of the door or window, the size of the board or lumber used varies, and is often decided by what fits best in the particular situation, though roughly three to four inches wide is a standard size.
Brick Mold Materials:
1. The typical brick mold is made of a soft wood, such as white or yellow pine. However, over time soft woods might become affected by weather conditions, especially if not sealed and painted correctly.
2. A brick mold can rot, and this causes expensive window removal and repair. Hardwood and PVC brick molds are also available in supply stores, and a most cost efficient material might be to use in the long run.
