1. SCOPE:
To sell powder activated carbon (PAC) as an adsorption media suitable for drinking water purification, according to ANSI / AWWA, B600-05
2. APPLICATION:
Powder activated carbon will be missed with water to form a slurry through porta PAC Norit Americas Inc. dosing system, and then applying this slurry into the water to be treated at suitable point, then (PAC) along with the adsorbed impurities is removed by settling
3. ORIGIN AND BACKGROUND
- PAC are virgin (not reactivated) pulverized bituminous coal base
- PAC are 100% manufactured by controlled oxidation steam
- Raw materials (Mineral, Coal) - Country of origin and a certificate of origin
4. Features :
a. High absorptive capacity to absorb a wide range of organic chemicals, many of which are taste and odor - causing substances as phenolic compounds, surfactants detergents and humic acids.
b. Appearance: black powder
c. Surface area: Min. 850m2/gm with high internal porosity
d. Particle size distribution: % passing No. 100 Sieve: = 99%
% passing No. 200 Sieve: = 95%
% passing No. 325 Sieve: > 75
e. Apparent density: (0.2 - 0.750) gm / CC
f. Moisture content: =8%, by weight of the container as packed
g. Iodine No. = 800mg/gm
h. Total ash content: (6-15) % Wt/Wt
i. pH: Alkaline (8-10)
j. Phenol number: = 3.5
6. PACKING AND SHIPPING
- In big bulk bag to Max. (500) kg gross wt. suitable for porta - PAC dosing system, and as per the attached drawing
- The bulk bag is of a woven polypro outer shell with a 3-mm polyethylene linner glued to the outer shell
- Two (2) discharge chute, a woven polypropylene outer chute and a solid (3)mm polyethylene inner chute, are provided for a dust free discharge of (PAC)
- The chutes are approximately (18”) in diameter and (24”) long- The bag chutes should be tieted together and the chuts length after titing should be 24”

Each shipment will be legible marking stating the following:
