- Introduction
Pneumatic Transmission mainly used in dry powder and particle product with the air as the carrier of transfer. In general, the airflow is ordinary air, but in some special conditions, as drying, cooling, heating airflow or inert gases such as nitrogen can be use as a transport airflow. According to this infrastructure, the products mixed into airflow then go thought the long pipe by airflow, the pipe connected with feeder or cyclone separator to separate air and products.
The pneumatic system includes four components:
1. Source of power- air blower, spiral blower, compressor, exhaust fan or vacuum pump, used to generate the airflow
2. Feeder-rotary valve, venture tube, screw loader, pipe or other feeder equipment, add the products into airflow under control.
3. Pipeline-straight pipe, elbow pipe and splite-flow valve
4. Separator-cyclone separator, loader, filter loader or silo/pipe, to separate particle and airflow.
2. Two ways of pneumatic transmission:
- Dilute phase transmission( lean phase) –high airflow rate, low particle content , mass flow ratio is about0-15
- The particle in pipe is a very important index relative to the density of airflow. Named phase position density or mass flow ratio, the ratio of particle and airflow
- There are a lot of configuration and the factors to consider, to ensure the design of the correct and effective delivery system. Choose accessories is also crucial

3. Advantage of pneumatic transmission
The advantage of pneumatic system compare with other ways:
- Low maintain, low labour, low investment-pipeline consist of closed smooth pipe, no mechanical motion parts.
- Flexible to arrange line: the pipe arrangement of pneumatic transmission can be vertical, level, elbow and can be go though narrow and small space compare to belt /screw/chain transmission, distribution product to many distribution point by splite-flow valve, easy to get material from many output. Pipeline extend and re-arrange line easily.
- Universality: a set of pneumatic system can transport different product in different time. All powders and particle can be transport by pneumatic system.
- Undefiled built in system with a lot of advantage: there will be no cross contamination when transport different product. Dangerous product and valuables, health care products, food and medicine are can be transport by seal control system. Airflow can be seal in system and cycle used in some of need special control of the environment,
