Working principle
Volute Sludge Dewatering is a filter device whose volute body is a cylinder stacked by fixed annular plates and moveable annular plates with the screw shaft running through it. Because the inner diameter of the screw shaft is bigger than the moveable annular plates, the rotation of the screw shaft will drive the moveable annular plate to do circling motion to avoid block. The space between the fixed annular plates and the moveable annular plates become smaller and smaller gradually from the concentrate part to the dewatering part along the exporting direction of the mud cake. The sludge will be transported to the dewatering part after gravity concentrating in the concentrate part, and then be forcibly dewatered under the internal pressure created by the back platen.
Working procedure
1. The sludge will be transferred to the sludge transportation mouth by the sludge feed pump.
2. The sludge will be transferred to the polymer mixing trough after adjusting flow in the measuring trough, and then fully mixed by the mixer.
3. The sludge becomes bigger flocs formed by fully mixing, and then is transferred to the volute body.
4. The flocs will both be gravity concentrated in the concentrate part and move to the dewatering part.
5. The space between the moveable annular plates and the fixed annular plates in the dewatering part will be narrower and narrower, and then the sludge will be dewatered by further pressure through adjustment the back platen located in the exit, finally discharge sludge cake.
