Unique features of our amphibious pontoon crawler excavators:
A. Pontoon
The pontoon is made of ship-making material A36 to increase strength and corrosion durability and to reduce its own weight. A large curvature design at both ends ensures the pontoon’s loading capacity and lessens its own weight, and also reduces the friction on contact with the ground. The pontoon can be adjusted to different loading designs based on the excavator models it is used with.
B. Drives
The driving gears and driven gears mounted at both ends of the pontoon are made of steel 16Mn. The quantity and thickness of the teeth of the top gears differ according to the requirements for the driving force and specifications of the excavator.
C. Chains
According to the ground friction and driving force of the chains, a three-chain design has been adopted, and the chains and idlers are made of 40Cr, and the sleeves are made of 20CrMo. They are both super anti-abrasion material to reduce abrasion and extend the parts’ service life.
D. Main frame
The main frame is designed according to the model and weight of the excavator to ensure a fixed position for an amphibious excavator operating in water. The main frame is made of ship-making material A36 to increase strength and save cost for customers.
E. High power efficiency
The new-style pontoon-crawler structure greatly reduces the undercarriage’s inner resistance, and also reduces driving power to a level equal to operating power,thus improving not only the power efficiency but the economy of the excavator as well.
F. Long Service life
The new-style structure for the pontoon-crawler, along with anti-corrosion measures, has solved the problem of deformation of track shoes and breakage of chains, hence, the pontoon doesn’t need frequent overhauls or track replacement unlike before so it now has an extended service life and an improved utilization rate.
