Aims and Demands:

Observing the function of magnetic field to electric current; Verify electrified conductor stress

direction and the relationship between the direction of magnetic field lines and current direction

is in line with the left hand rule.

Materials:

Horseshoe magnets, right and left hand rule demonstrator, student power, single pole switch, 

slide rheostat, wire .

 

 

 

Experimental method:

1.Watching the movement of wire when current in the magnetic field.

 According to the figure 3.22-1 will be left hand rule demonstrator and single-pole switch K R, student supplies, and slide rheostat connected.Put square coil below an edge in

 a horse shoe magnet between the poles, so that it is in the middle of the horseshoe magnet and 

level. Power supply the output current of 2 terminal, choose the output voltage 6 v.

 

First remove the magnet, closed switch, observe whether the coil move; To put the magnets 

according to figure 3.22-1, close switch, observe whether coil is movement.If the magnetic field 

for electrified conductor have force.

 

Conductor magnetic pole position, change the direction of current, observation Conductor 

movement direction.Whether the force direction of magnetic field of electrified conductor changes

 with the direction of current change.

 

Current direction invariable, exchange pole position, observe conductor movement direction.

Whether the force direction of magnetic field of electrified conductor changes according to the 

direction of magnetic field lines?

 

2.Verify the left hand rule

 

 

 

Direction of the current in the conductor and the magnetic field are known,Use left hand rule

 to determine force direction of the conductor, and then closed switch , pass into the current, 

to see whether the direction of the conductors movement is right.

 

 

 

Known polarization direction and expectations after the current conductor movement direction,

 first with his left hand rule determine the proper direction of magnetic field lines, then according

 to the direction to place the poles, closed switch, access to current, see if conductor as expected

 direction?
