Compact Dissolved Air Flotation Unit Machine

Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is a water treatment process that clarifies wastewaters (or other waters) by the removal of suspended matter such as oil or solids. The removal is achieved by dissolving air in the water or wastewater under pressure and then releasing the air at atmospheric pressure in a flotation tank or basin. The released air forms tiny bubbles which adhere to the suspended matter causing the suspended matter to float to the surface of the water where it may then be removed by a skimming device.

Dissolved air flotation machine works though the rotation of impeller. Pulps in the cell are absorbed between impeller blades though the bottom of cell by the moving impeller. At the same time, the low voltage air given by blower enters into the air distributor in the impeller cavity though air flue, air control valve, and the empty hollow, and then enter into the impeller blades though holes around the distributor. Then air and pulps are mixed between the impeller blades. After that, the mixed materials are discharged though the edge of the upper impeller. The discharged pulp flow moves to the top of the impeller and then spread in the whole cell. Mineral laden bubbles rise to the surface of cell and form to bubbles. Bubbles flows to the bubble tank. And some pulps return to the impeller area or recycling. Other pulps flow to the below cell for sorting though holes on the wall of cell.

The new dissolved air flotation machine has made some improvement on its structure: the blades of impeller tilts back, so that the impeller can have stronger string ability but consumes less energy; perforated cylindrical air distributor is installed in impeller cavity, so that air in the impeller cavity can distribute evenly; using u-shaped cell decreases the deposition of tailings.
