Applictions: various industries involving large amount of water require frequent water testing, and the controlling of water quality to meet the different standards.
2. Features of product
Quick and easy
Operating in accordance with the instructions, users can complete the copper test independently without specialized training. 2~3 minutes is enough to complete the analysis of one water sample.
Accurate and reliable
This method equals to the BCA method (EPA approved method). At a certain pH condition, BCA reacts with the cuprous ions to form a kind of purple complex, the color depth is proportion to the concentration of copper.
The range of the determination: 0.2~5.0mg/L. If the concentration is out of the range, please repeat the operation after appropriate dilution of the water sample.
3. Operation
1. Fill the tube with 15mL testing liquid, add one pack of the reagent, wait for 2 minutes.
2. Put the tube on the colorimetric chart, and look from up to bottom, compare the color of the liquid and colors on the chart, then come out a result (mg/L).
Note: Al3+, Fe3+, Ag+ CN- will affect the result, the PH of the testing liquid must be controlled between 4 and 7.

In the worldwide, the average content of copper is 3μg/L in freshwater and 0.25μg/L in sea water. The major pollution sources of copper are waste water discharged from electroplating, smelting, hardware, petrochemical, chemical and other industry sectors.

Copper is an essential element of human body. But the self-purification capacity of water is inhibited significantly when the copper content is more than 0.01mg/L. Copper is toxic to aquatic organisms. It is generally believed that the copper content of water exceeding 0.01mg/L is unsafe for fish. The copper toxicity to aquatic organisms is related to its forms in the water. For example, the toxicity of the free copper ions is much higher than that of the complex state. In irrigation water, the critical hazardous concentration of copper sulfate to rice is 0.6mg/L.
