GAC (granular activated carbon) filters use loose carbon granules, allowing higher flow rates but lower particulate removal (typically 20-50 micron). Carbon block filters are compressed, offering finer filtration (down to 0.5 micron) but lower flow. Our GAC filter is ideal for taste/odor reduction and sediment pre-filtration.
2. How often should I replace this filter element?
Replacement frequency depends on water quality and usage. Typically, a 10-inch GAC filter should be replaced every 3-6 months. If you notice a drop in flow rate or a return of chlorine taste, it's time to change.
3. Is this filter compatible with my existing 10-inch housing?
Yes, this filter has a standard 10-inch length and 2.5-inch diameter, fitting most universal 10-inch filter housings. The end caps are designed with standard O-ring grooves. Please verify your housing's connection type (flat or notched) if needed.
4. Does it remove bacteria or viruses?
