1. Product Overview
Steel billet is semi-finished steel formed by continuous casting or ingot casting after steelmaking, serving as the upstream basic raw material for rolled finished products. Main varieties include Cast Square Billet, Hot Rolled Steel Billet and Carbon Steel Billet. It can be further hot rolled into round bars, angle steel, channel steel, wire rods, steel plates, steel pipes and other sectional materials. Featuring stable internal structure, uniform chemical composition and regular dimensions, steel billets are suitable for mass rolling and forging deep processing, and widely supplied to steel rolling mills and forging factories. Products can be customized by material and cross-section size. Spot supply and long-term order production are available for domestic sales and foreign trade export.
2. Product Classification and Process Characteristics
2.1 Cast Square Billet
Process: Molten steel refining → continuous casting → cooling & cutting → surface finishing Advantages: High production efficiency, controllable cost, uniform chemical composition and large output Cross-section: Square cross-section; rectangular billets can also be produced as matched materials Application: Rolling sectional steel, bars, wire rods and steel pipes
2.2 Hot Rolled Steel Billet
After continuous casting, preliminary hot rolling trimming is carried out to achieve higher dimensional accuracy and fewer surface defects. It can be directly supplied to downstream manufacturers for rolling bars and sectional steel, divided into square and rectangular cross-sections. It is a large-volume semi-finished raw material in circulation. Common sizes: 100×100mm, 120×120mm, 130×130mm, 150×150mm, 160×160mm, 180×180mm, 200×200mm, etc.
2.3 Carbon Steel Billet
A category of steel billets made of carbon structural steel and high-quality carbon steel. With the strongest universality and excellent machinability, it adapts to multiple processes including rolling and forging. It is the most demanded billet product in the global steel processing industry. Common sizes: 160×220mm, 180×240mm, 200×260mm, 220×300mm, etc.
3. Common Material Grades
Ordinary Carbon SteelQ195, Q235B, SS400. Widely used for ordinary sectional steel, wire rods, scaffold steel and general steel structure raw materials, dominated by Carbon Steel Billet.
Low Alloy SteelQ355B with higher strength, suitable for rolling construction machinery components and load-bearing sectional steel.
High-quality Carbon Steel20#, 35#, 45#, S45C, used as forging blanks for machined round steel, shafts and bolts.
Alloy Steel Billet40Cr, 42CrMo and other alloy steel billets for forging and rolling high-end mechanical parts.

5. Quality Standards
Domestic Standards: GB/T 26604, YB/T 2011 International Reference Standards: ASTM, JIS, EN Standards Inspection Items: Chemical composition analysis, surface visual inspection, macrostructure examination, dimensional measurement. Original Material Test Certificate (MTC) can be provided. Surface Requirements: No severe cracks, scabs, laps or inclusions; neatly cut ends without excessive depressions and burrs.

7. Packaging, Weighing and Commercial Terms

8. Shipment Cycle
Spot Orders: Sufficient inventory of Cast Square Billet, Hot Rolled Steel Billet, Carbon Steel Billet with conventional materials and standard cross-sections. Goods will be loaded and shipped within 3–7 working days after order confirmation.
Custom Material / Special Cross-section Orders: Delivery within 7–15 working days according to steel mill production schedule.
Large-volume Long-term Orders: Phased supply can be negotiated to guarantee stable production of downstream factories.
Foreign Trade Export Orders: Arranged packaging reinforcement and document preparation. Container loading finished within 7–14 days.
