SMF Product Description
Basic Information
SMF full name is sulfonated melamine formaldehyde condensate, shorted as SMF superplasticizer or powder SMF dispersant in chemical industry. It is pure white free-flow dry powder, and liquid SMF is available as matching form. SMF is air-free high-range superplasticizer with more outstanding strength improvement than naphthalene series products. SMF features ultra-low chloride content without steel corrosion risk, widely adopted in precast components, self-leveling mortar, gypsum products and refractory castables. Powder SMF dissolves completely in cold water with excellent compound compatibility. Clients can use SMF alone or mix SMF with SNF, PCE to make composite admixtures. High-strength steam-cured projects and premium repair mortars take SMF as preferred raw material, which is core high-end powder additive for dry-mix construction materials.
Product Overview
SMF is melamine-based anionic high-efficiency powder superplasticizer, liquid SMF shares same formula with stable unified dispersion, water reduction and strength boosting performance. Adding SMF can fully break agglomerates of cement and gypsum particles, greatly cut mixing water consumption and improve compactness as well as early & late strength of finished products. SMF brings zero air entrainment, smooth surface without pores and low shrinkage after molding. SMF owns stable physical and chemical properties with anti-caking storage performance, compatible with all early strength agents, retarders and defoamers. Customers can choose powder SMF or liquid SMF according to demands, suitable for all high-standard cement-based and gypsum-based building material production.
Main Features
Ultra-high water reduction & remarkable strength gain: The water reduction rate of SMF exceeds 20%, greatly boosts 1d, 3d and 28d strength under fixed water-binder ratio. SMF shortens steam curing time and improves finished strength for precast parts.
Air-free & low chloride anti-corrosion performance: SMF will not generate extra air bubbles to guarantee dense smooth finished surface, ultra-low chloride ion avoids steel bar rust, SMF fits bridge, subway and precast engineering projects.
Free-flow powder for easy storage & dissolution: Powder SMF is loose and pure white, moisture-proof and anti-caking, dissolves fast in cold water without residue. Compared with liquid SMF, solid powder won’t freeze during storage and transportation.
Wide application & great compound compatibility: SMF applies to cement concrete, self-leveling mortar, tile grout, gypsum materials and refractory castables, it can be compounded with naphthalene superplasticizer, polycarboxylate and other admixtures freely.
Usage
Dry-mix self-leveling & repair mortar: Mix SMF evenly with powder raw materials, add water and stir on site to enhance fluidity and reduce shrinkage for smooth pinhole-free floor surface.
Steam-cured precast concrete: Feed SMF during mixing station process to cut mixing water, shorten steam curing cycle and improve compactness & surface gloss of components.
Gypsum products & tile grout: Add SMF during gypsum board and grout production to optimize gypsum dispersion, prevent cracking and raise surface gloss.
Refractory castables & industrial slurry: Dissolve SMF and mix with refractory aggregate to lower slurry water dosage and enhance high-temperature strength of refractory materials.

Powder SMF: packed in 25kg/bag or jumbo bag as customer's request
