Worm-gear operated fluorine-lined butterfly valve, fluorine-lined valve


Fluorine-lined flanged butterfly valves utilize a butterfly plate that rotates with the stem as the opening/closing element to control flow. In addition to shut-off and throttling functions, these valves offer advantages such as small size, light weight, and compact structure; compared to gate valves of similar specifications, they are 30–50% lighter on average. A 90° rotation of the butterfly plate completes the opening or closing cycle. Furthermore, because the forces exerted by the medium on the butterfly plate are roughly balanced on either side of the axis, the operating torque required is relatively low.

I. Fluoroplastic-lined butterfly valve series introduced by the company


1. There are two basic types: the D71F4 and D71F46 (concentric) fully lined wafer-style butterfly valves, and the D41F4 and D41F46 (concentric) fully lined flanged butterfly valves. They feature a split two-piece valve body design with an integrated valve seat and body lining. During operation, only the all-plastic seat and the plastic-lined butterfly plate come into contact with the medium. The products are resistant to corrosion from virtually all media (except molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine). In the D71F46 models, the stem and butterfly plate (forged) are integrated into a single unit, with the surface uniformly encapsulated in FEP. The internal flow passage is smooth, offering a high Cv value and strong flow capacity with moderate operating torque. A four-stage sealing structure is employed, featuring a temperature- and aging-resistant silicone (SI) rubber elastic seat liner to ensure zero leakage of the medium.


2. Derived from the models above, the D41F4 and D41F46 flanged butterfly valves feature a fully lined body and a stainless steel butterfly plate with a semi-lined design.


II. Structural Features


1. The concentric butterfly valve design aligns the butterfly plate and the valve seat concentrically (along the centerline) throughout the 360° rotation, providing sealing capabilities and allowing for the free adjustment of pressure and flow.


2. Four-stage loaded elastic sealing ensures absolute zero leakage, both internally and externally. A. Special transition curves at the junction of the shaft head and the butterfly plate circumference, combined with an optimized interference fit with the valve seat. B. The shaft end face utilizes a combination of an elastic O-ring, a rigid washer at the shaft shoulder, and an elastic rubber gasket. C. The radial seal of the shaft employs a combination of an O-ring and a metal washer. D. The valve seat is embedded in a groove within the valve body that features an elastic strip.


III. Actuation methods: manual, worm gear, pneumatic, and electric.


Fluoroplastic-lined valves (often referred to simply as "fluorine-lined valves") offer excellent corrosion resistance. Types include ball valves, flanged butterfly valves, wafer butterfly valves, gate valves, globe valves, check valves, diaphragm valves, and control valves. These valves can be equipped with worm gear, electric, or pneumatic actuators to enable automated control.
