Currently, the overall situation of sludge treatment and disposal in China is mainly in the form of land utilization. Drying is to remove moisture, and the removal of moisture goes through two main processes:
1) Evaporation process: The moisture on the surface of the material vaporizes. Since the water vapor pressure on the material surface is lower than the partial pressure of water vapor in the medium (gas), the moisture moves from the material surface into the medium.
2) Diffusion process: It is a mass transfer process closely related to vaporization. When the moisture on the material surface is evaporated, the humidity on the material surface becomes lower than that inside the material. At this time, the driving force of heat is needed to transfer the moisture from the inside to the surface.
The continuous and alternating progress of the above two processes basically reflects the mechanism of drying.
Most drying processes take 20 - 30 minutes to dry the sludge from a solid content of 20% to 90%.
Drying is completed by two complementary and non - conflicting processes: surface water vaporization and internal water diffusion. Generally speaking, the diffusion rate of moisture decreases continuously as the dryness of the sludge particles increases, while the vaporization rate of surface moisture increases as the dryness increases. Since the diffusion rate is mainly driven by thermal energy, for the thermal convection system, dryers generally use the co - current process, and the thermal energy supply of most processes gradually decreases. This results in a decrease in the drying speed of high - dryness products in the second half. For the heat conduction system, when the surface moisture content of the sludge decreases, its heat exchange efficiency drops sharply. Therefore, a larger heat exchange surface area is required to complete the evaporation of the last stage of moisture.
The sludge drying and dehumidification all-in-one machine uses a dehumidification heat pump to dry the sludge through hot air circulation, condensation, and dehumidification. Dehumidification drying recovers the latent heat and sensible heat in the exhaust air, and the heat can be recycled in a closed loop, while the moisture is discharged through condensed water. There is no waste heat emission during the dehumidification drying process. In traditional sludge thermal drying systems, 90% of the heat supply is converted into exhaust heat loss (latent heat of water vapor and sensible heat of hot air). There is also no exhaust gas emission, so there is no need for exhaust gas deodorization and dust treatment devices, and the system is simple and optimized.
A dehumidification heat pump is a device that uses a refrigeration system to cool and dehumidify humid air and at the same time recovers the latent heat of moisture condensation in the air through the heat pump principle to heat the air.
