Water stop steel plate, also known as water barrier steel strip, is an indispensable rigid waterproof component for concrete structural construction, mainly manufactured from prime Q235 hot-rolled carbon steel with no secondary recycled steel mixed. Most finished products adopt double-sided 45-degree bending on both edges, a standard structural design that strengthens bonding friction with poured concrete and avoids peeling under long-term ground stress. The conventional size covers thickness from 2mm to 4mm, width from 200mm to 400mm, and customizable cutting length meets on-site construction demands for basement exterior walls, tunnel lining, underground pipe corridors, sewage treatment pools and hydraulic dam projects. Unlike rubber waterstops prone to aging and corrosion, carbon steel water stop plates deliver permanent waterproof performance without performance attenuation within 50 years. During installation, workers embed the middle straight section inside concrete construction joints, with folded edges exposed on both sides to lengthen the capillary seepage path of underground water, blocking transverse and longitudinal water penetration effectively. All raw materials pass SGS material composition inspection, and surfaces are treated with rust-proof anti-oxidation oil to prevent oxidation during transportation and storage. For harsh saline underground environments, customized hot-dip galvanized treatment is available to enhance salt corrosion resistance. The product undergoes flattening and deburring processing to eliminate sharp edges that may scratch concrete reinforcement. It features low installation cost, high tensile strength over 375MPa, and excellent seismic deformation resistance, which can withstand tiny concrete structural displacement caused by foundation settlement. Compared with flexible waterproof materials, it avoids failures from high temperature aging, ultraviolet radiation and biological erosion, making it the primary waterproof choice for permanent underground building structures across global infrastructure projects.
