Why Your A0 Blueprints Keep Getting Damaged
If you work in an architecture firm, you already know the problem. A0 drawings (841×1189mm) don’t fit in standard filing cabinets. Rolling them up saves space but creates creases. The drawer interior is 1205mm wide — about 60mm wider than A0 paper on each side. That gap matters. It gives your fingers room to grab the drawing without pinching or bending the corners.
How to Organize 5 Drawers for Architecture Projects
Most firms use a consistent system across their flat file cabinets. Here’s what works:
Top 2 drawers: Current project — latest revision drawings
Middle drawer: Change orders, review submissions, redlines
Bottom 2 drawers: Archived drawings from completed projects

The full-extension slides keep drawers level when pulled out, even at full load. Cheaper cabinets use lighter slides that tilt backward under weight — drawings slide out the back, scatter on the floor, and you spend 30 minutes re-sorting.
Lockable Wheels — Why Casters Matter in an Architecture Firm

Client meetings: roll the cabinet to the conference room, pull out the relevant drawings for the client, roll it back when you’re done. No carrying rolled-up drawings down the hallway.

Steel Construction and Surface Finish
SPCC cold-rolled steel, 0.8mm standard thickness. Electrostatic powder coating, not spray paint. Powder coating is harder, resists scratching, and won’t chip when cabinets bump against each other during rearrangement.
Matte white finish. Not gloss white — gloss reflects overhead fluorescent lights and creates glare. Matte white is the standard in architecture firms and archives for a reason.
Need a heavier build? 1.0mm thickness is available for workshops and high-traffic environments. It adds about 15% to the weight and cost, but the extra rigidity is worth it if the cabinet gets moved daily.
Moving the Cabinet Through Doorways
Single section: H550 × W1300 × D930mm. At 1.3 meters wide, it fits through standard office doors. If your doorways are narrower, the sections separate — carry them in one at a time (each is only 550mm tall) and stack them in place. The casters come with a locking pin. Remove the pin and the caster assembly detaches, reducing height by another 50mm for low thresholds.

FAQ
Does this cabinet hold A1 drawings too?
Yes. A1 paper (594×841mm) fits with plenty of room. The drawers are sized for A0, so smaller formats work fine — you just have extra space around the sheets.
Can I stack more than 3 sections?
Technically yes, but we don’t recommend more than 3 for stability. At 3 sections (1750mm), the cabinet is already at a comfortable working height. Going higher makes the top drawers hard to reach and the whole unit less stable on casters.
How many drawings fit in one drawer?
Approximately 80-100 sheets of standard 80gsm paper. Heavier stock (like tracing paper or vellum) takes up more space — figure 40-60 sheets per drawer.
Is assembly required?
Minimal. The sections stack with alignment pins. The casters bolt onto the bottom section. Allow about 15 minutes with a screwdriver. No special tools.
Can I get different colors?
Yes. Matte white is standard, but custom RAL colors are available for orders of 10+ sections. Common choices include light grey (RAL 7035) and signal blue (RAL 5005).
Do the drawers have dividers?
Standard configuration does not include dividers, but adjustable partition brackets can be added. They slide into slots inside the drawer, letting you separate different drawing sets within the same drawer.
