Product Specification of Deformed Steel Rebar
1. Product Overview
Full Name: Hot Rolled Ribbed Steel Bar (commonly known as deformed rebar). It is manufactured from low-alloy carbon steel via hot rolling process. The bar body is cylindrical with two longitudinal ribs and evenly distributed crescent transverse ribs. The rib structure greatly improves bonding and anchoring performance with concrete. As the core load-bearing material for reinforced concrete projects, it is widely applied in residential construction, road & bridge projects, infrastructure, water conservancy, tunnel and other cast-in-place structural works.
Grade Definition: HRB = Hot-Rolled Ribbed Bar; the trailing figure stands for minimum yield strength in MPa; suffix E denotes seismic-grade rebar (Earthquake-resistant).
2. Applicable Standards
Domestic Standard: GB/T 1499.2-2024 Steel for the Reinforcement of Concrete – Part 2: Hot Rolled Ribbed Bars
International Export Standards: ASTM A615 (Grade40/Grade60), BS4449 (B500B), ISO6935-2, JIS G3112; customized specifications available per buyer’s requirement.

Standard nominal diameters: Φ12/14/16/18/20/22/25/28/32/36/40mm; sizes ≤Φ12 can be supplied in coil form (wire rod in coil), other sizes are straight fixed-length bars.

Length tolerance: ±25mm; Diameter tolerance: ±7% for Φ6~12mm, ±5% for Φ14~20mm, ±4% for Φ22~50mm.

Cold Bending Property: No crack or breakage after 180° ambient cold bend test.
7. Production Process Flow
Molten Iron from Blast Furnace → Converter Smelting + LF Refining → Continuous Casting Steel Billet → Billet Reheating above 1100℃ → Rough Rolling → Intermediate Rolling → Finishing Rolling for rib forming → Water Cooling Controlled Process → Fixed-length Cutting → Physical & Chemical Inspection → Bundling & Warehousing.

9. Application Scope
Civil Construction: Foundation, beam, column, floor slab and shear wall reinforcement for residential & commercial buildings (Φ12~25 mostly used).
Large-scale Infrastructure: Highway/railway bridges, culverts, airport, dock and dam projects (large diameter Φ28~40).
Municipal Works: Tunnel segments, underground pipe gallery, slope protection and civil air defense projects (HRB400E/HRB500E preferred).
10. Packing, Delivery & Storage
Packing: Straight deformed bars bundled by steel straps, each bundle approx. 2~3MT; grade, dimension, heat number and manufacturer marked on each bundle; coiled rebar packed with steel strip.
Delivery: Shipment from Tianjin Port & Shandong ports; production lead time: 5~7 working days; foreign trade payment term: 30% TT prepayment + 70% balance TT before shipment.
Storage: Store indoors or open yard with padding away from ground to avoid damp and long-term rain corrosion; separate stacking by size and grade.
11. Quality Inspection
Mill Test Certificate (MTC) issued on delivery including heat number, chemical analysis report, tensile test report and cold bend test report; SGS / CE third-party inspection certificate available for export orders upon request.
