H-Beam Product Specification
1. Product Overview
H-beam is an economical high-efficiency structural section steel consisting of one central web and two parallel flanges shaped like the letter "H". Unlike conventional I-beams with sloped inner flange surfaces, its flanges feature parallel inner and outer planes, enabling easy high-strength bolt splicing. With outstanding strength-to-weight ratio and excellent lateral rigidity, it serves as a core structural material for steel beams and columns.
Standards for Reference: Domestic standard GB/T 11263-2024 for hot rolled H-beam; international alternatives include JIS G3192 (Japanese Standard), ASTM A36/A572 Gr50 (American Standard) and EN10025 (European Standard).
2. Product Classification
2.1 Classification by Structural Application (Four National Standard Types)
HW Wide Flange H-Beam: Flange width is close to section height, mainly applied as steel structure columns and foundation steel piles with superior compression resistance. Example: HW300×300×10×15.
HM Medium Flange H-Beam: Flange width is approximately half of section height, suitable for primary and secondary beams of steel frames for both beam and column purposes. Example: HM390×300×10×16.
HN Narrow Flange H-Beam: Section height is more than twice the flange width, specially designed as primary and secondary bearing beams and the most widely used bending components. Example: HN500×200×10×16.
HP Piling H-Beam: Thickened flanges for foundation pit shoring, construction steel piles and bridge foundation projects.
2.2 Classification by Manufacturing Process
Hot Rolled H-Beam: Integrally hot-rolled in steel mills with uniform metallographic structure and precise dimensional tolerance. Regular sizes range from H100mm to H900mm, standard fixed lengths: 6m,9m,12m with abundant spot inventory.
Welded H-Beam: Fabricated by welding three separate steel plates, customized for non-standard specifications. Maximal available height reaches 3000mm for extra-large span special engineering projects.
Specification Marking Rule
Format: H(Height)×B(Flange Width)×t1(Web Thickness)×t2(Flange Thickness), followed by material grade.Example: Q235B HW200×200×8×12 means wide flange H-beam: height 200mm, flange width 200mm, web thickness 8mm, flange thickness12mm in Q235B grade.

Chemical Composition of Regular Q235B: C≤0.22%, Si≤0.35%, Mn≤1.4%, S≤0.045%, P≤0.045%. Original mill certificate (COA) is available upon request.

Heavy equipment base frames, boiler supports, petrochemical steel frames, mine underground supports and tower crane foundations.

Ship keel frames, large construction machinery racks and wind turbine support frames for prefabricated building export.
6. Dimensional Tolerance & Delivery Specifications
Standard fixed lengths: 6m,9m,12m; custom cutting and non-standard lengths available. Length tolerance: +60/0mm for length ≤7m; extra +5mm per meter for length over7m.
Section tolerance: Height ±3mm, flange width ±2mm, wall thickness ±0.3~1.5mm, complying with GB/T11263-2024.
Surface condition: Original hot rolled black finish; optional surface treatments: shot blasting, paint coating and hot-dip galvanizing.
7. Packing, Storage & Shipment for Foreign Trade
Domestic delivery: Bundled with steel strips (2~6 pieces per bundle), loaded by truck from open yard or warehouse. Goods depart from Tianjin Port within 5~7 working days.
Export packing: End cap protection + steel strip binding, loaded into 20GP/40GP containers with anti-moisture wrapping film. Complete documents including mill certificate, packing list and inspection certificate provided.
Foreign Trade Payment Term: 30% TT deposit in advance, balance TT against copy of Bill of Lading; Letter of Credit (LC) is not acceptable.
8. Quality Assurance
All products come with original mill material certificate and mechanical inspection report. Third-party SGS inspection is available on clients’ demand. Full inspection on dimension, mechanical property and chemical composition to meet national or corresponding international standards; defective goods are replaceable or refundable.
