Cast Pipe Product Specification
1. Product Overview
The mainstream cast pipe product is Centrifugal Ductile Iron Pipe (D.I. Pipe). Manufactured from high-quality pig iron with magnesium-based nodulizer for spheroidizing treatment via high-speed centrifugal casting and high-temperature annealing, it combines excellent corrosion resistance of cast iron and high toughness of steel, widely used for municipal water supply & drainage, gas transmission and industrial fluid transportation.
Standard single effective length: 6m / 5.7m; Nominal diameter range: DN80~DN2600mm. Standard wall thickness grade is K9 for general pressure service, with optional customized grades K7/K8/K10 available.
2. Product Classification
2.1 By Production Process
Water-cooled Metal Mold Centrifugal Cast Pipe (Main Grade): Formed by water cooling inside rotating metal mould, featuring compact pipe wall, smooth inner surface (Ra3.2~6.3μm), wall thickness tolerance ≤5%, free of blowholes and sand holes, applicable for potable water and high-pressure sewer projects.
Horizontal Continuous Sand Cast Pipe: Produced by horizontal continuous casting with lower cost, mainly for small & medium diameter low-pressure grey iron drainage pipelines.
Manual Sand Cast Pipe (Phased-out): Rough surface with high defect rate, only for temporary low-pressure piping.
2.2 By Material
Ductile Iron Pipe (Mainstream): Spheroidal graphite microstructure with outstanding crack resistance and toughness for pressurized water supply, gas and sewage pipelines.
Grey Cast Iron Pipe: Flake graphite structure with poor ductility, limited to gravity low-pressure drainage.
Alloy Cast Pipe: Cr-Ni alloy material resistant to high temperature over 1000℃, applied for high-temperature wear-resistant piping in power & chemical industries.
2.3 By Joint Type
T-type / N1-type Flexible Spigot & Socket Joint (Standard Configuration): Sealed by EPDM rubber gasket, allowing 3° angular deflection and ±30mm radial displacement. Earthquake-resistant up to Grade 9, adaptable to uneven foundation settlement; no welding required, preferred for municipal construction.
Self-anchored Joint: Equipped with self-lock buckle to counter pipeline hydraulic thrust, suitable for overhead, steep slope and river-crossing pipelines.
Flanged Joint: Bolted connection with gasket sealing for PN16/PN25 high-pressure industrial pipelines and pump station connections.
2.4 By Transported Medium
Potable water cast pipe, rain & domestic/industrial sewage cast pipe, gas transmission cast pipe, high-temperature wear-resistant industrial cast pipe.
3. Chemical Composition & Mechanical Properties
3.1 Chemical Composition (QT500-7 / GGG50 Ductile Iron)
C:3.0%~3.8%, Si:2.2%~3.2%, Mn≤0.4%, S≤0.03%, P≤0.06%, Residual Mg:0.03%~0.06% (key element for graphite spheroidization).
3.2 Mechanical Data (K9 Grade)
Tensile Strength ≥420MPa, Elongation ≥7% (Grey cast iron: ≥150MPa with negligible elongation)
Brinell Hardness ≤230HB; superior impact resistance against heavy rolling and external compression to avoid burst cracking.
Factory Hydrostatic Test: Standard test pressure 2.5MPa for DN≤1000 pipes, hold pressure for 5min without leakage.
3.3 Metallurgical Standard
Graphite spheroidization Grade 1~3, spheroidization rate ≥80%; ferrite + minor pearlite matrix, internal casting stress eliminated via full annealing treatment.
4. Internal & External Anti-corrosion Coating
4.1 Internal Lining
Potable Water Pipe: Cement mortar lining (high-alumina / portland cement), coating thickness 2~6mm, smooth surface for anti-scaling and non-toxic drinking water compliance.
Sewage & Corrosive Medium Pipe: Epoxy ceramic or coal tar epoxy lining for acid & alkali corrosion resistance.
4.2 External Anti-corrosion Coating
Standard finish: Zinc spraying (130g/㎡) + Asphalt Topcoat.Heavy corrosive environment (saline-alkali land, chemical zone, swamp): Zn-Al alloy coating (400g/㎡) plus extra epoxy coating, extending service life by 3~4 times.

Lead Time: Stock available for DN80~DN1200, shipment within 5~7 working days; customized large diameter above DN1400 takes 7~10 days.
Packing & Shipment: Bare pipes bundled with steel strip, delivered from Liaocheng warehouse or Tianjin Port for container export.
