Cast Pipe - Product Specification

1. Product Overview

Cast pipes are integrally cast tubular components manufactured from pig iron, carbon steel and alloy materials via sand casting, centrifugal casting, permanent mold casting and other processes. Featuring high strength, excellent wear resistance, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, superior tightness and long service life, they are widely applied in water supply & drainage, municipal engineering, mining, metallurgy, chemical industry, electric power, heating & ventilation, fire protection, oil & gas transportation and other fields, serving as key pipes for fluid transmission and supporting load-bearing in industrial and infrastructure projects.

2. Main Production Processes

  1. Centrifugal CastingThe mainstream production method. Pipes made by this process have dense metallographic structure, uniform wall thickness, smooth inner and outer surfaces, excellent mechanical properties, high dimensional accuracy and strong pressure resistance, suitable for medium and high-pressure transmission pipelines.

  2. Sand CastingA mature and cost-effective process. It is applicable for manufacturing large-diameter pipes and special-shaped fittings such as elbows, tees and integral flanged pipes, ideal for large-caliber pipelines under low and medium pressure working conditions.

  3. Permanent Mold CastingIt delivers good surface finish and high production efficiency with stable dimensions, mostly used for standard cast pipes and matching fittings of small and medium calibers.

3. Material Classification & Properties

3.1 Gray Cast Iron Pipe (HT150 / HT200 / HT250)

  • Features: Good vibration damping, excellent wear resistance, easy machining and cost efficiency with high compressive strength and moderate brittleness.

  • Application: Municipal water supply & drainage, sewage pipelines, rainwater pipe networks and underground buried pipelines.

3.2 Ductile Iron Pipe (QT450-10 / QT500-7)

  • Features: High toughness, tensile resistance, resistance to ground settlement and seismic performance, outstanding fatigue resistance. Its overall performance is far superior to ordinary gray cast iron pipes.

  • Application: Urban main water supply pipelines, gas pipelines, long-distance buried pipelines and pipelines beneath heavy-load roads.

3.3 Carbon Steel Cast Pipe (ZG230-450 / ZG270-500)

  • Features: High strength, high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance and good weldability.

  • Application: Industrial high-temperature fluid pipelines, steam pipelines, chemical medium transmission pipelines and supporting pipes for power stations and boilers.

3.4 Alloy Cast Pipe (Wear-resistant / Corrosion-resistant Alloy)

  • Features: Extreme wear resistance, acid & alkali resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance and anti-scouring performance.

9. Packaging, Transportation & Storage

  2. Transportation: Transported in bulk with steel frame fixation to prevent rolling, impact and extrusion.

  3. Storage: Stack on flat ground with sleepers for separation. Keep away from acid and alkali corrosive substances and seal pipe ends properly.
