Product Description
Usage Environment
Sliding nozzles are key devices in the continuous casting process of steelmaking, mainly used to control the flow of molten steel from the ladle to the tundish. They operate in an extremely harsh high - temperature environment, with the temperature of molten steel usually reaching about 1500 - 1600°C. Moreover, they are exposed to the scouring of molten steel and slag, as well as the chemical erosion of various elements in the molten steel and slag. Meanwhile, during the casting process, they need to endure rapid temperature changes, resulting in significant thermal stress inside the materials.
Composition
Refractory Materials:
These are the main components of sliding nozzles. Common refractory materials include aluminum - carbon (Al-C), aluminum - zirconium - carbon (Al-Zr-C), magnesia - based materials, and corundum - based materials.
For example, aluminum - carbon materials are often used in general - purpose ladle sliding nozzles, which are composed of sintered alumina and carbon components. Aluminum - zirconium - carbon materials, which add zirconium - containing components on the basis of aluminum - carbon materials, are widely applied in large - scale refined ladle sliding nozzles.
