Detailed Description of Angle Steel
Angle steel, commonly known as angle iron, is an L-shaped long steel with two mutually perpendicular sides, belonging to carbon structural steel. It is divided into equal angle steel and unequal angle steel.
1. Product Classification
By cross-section shape
Equal angle steel: Two sides of identical length, marked as side width × side thickness, side width ranges 20-250mm.
Unequal angle steel: Two sides of different lengths, marked as long side × short side × side thickness, long side 25-250mm, short side 16-160mm.
By production process
Hot rolled angle steel: Mainstream type, compliant with GB/T 706-2016, cost-effective.
Cold formed angle steel: Compliant with GB/T 6723-2017, uniform wall thickness and high precision.
Hot-dip galvanized angle steel: Coating thickness 30-50μm, excellent anti-corrosion performance.
By material grade
Carbon steel: Q235B, Q275
Low alloy steel: Q355B/C/D/E, high strength and good low-temperature toughness
Stainless steel: 304, 316, applicable for chemical and marine environments

Standard executed: GB/T 706-2016
Equal angle steel: Model corresponds to side width, side thickness 3-20mm, conventional length 6m/12m.
Unequal angle steel: Model marked by long and short side size, side thickness 4-18mm.

5. Dimensional & Surface Tolerance
Side width deviation: ±0.5mm for size below 125mm, ±0.8mm for size above 125mm
Side thickness deviation: ±0.4mm
Bending degree: ≤3mm per meter, total bending ≤0.3% of total length
Surface quality: Free from crack, fold and inclusion; slight oxide scale and rust are acceptable
6. Application Scope
Building frame, support, guardrail, power transmission tower, equipment base, bridge component, advertising bracket, ship structure, storage shelf and other engineering constructions.
7. Packaging & Delivery
Delivered in bundled packages, each bundle 2-5 tons. Product information including specification, standard, material and factory mark is printed on surface. Hot rolled or normalized delivery condition. Official material certificate will be provided.
