Galvanized Steel Pipe Product Specification
Galvanized steel pipe refers to welded steel pipe coated with hot-dip galvanized layer, featuring high strength, long service life and excellent corrosion resistance. It is widely applied in low-pressure fluid transportation and structural support, complying with standard GB/T 3091-2025.
1. Product Classification
Hot-dip Galvanized Pipe (Main Standard Type)Steel pipes are immersed in molten zinc liquid at 450℃±5℃, forming zinc-iron alloy layer and pure zinc layer. Coating thickness ranges 40–85μm with strong adhesion. Service life reaches 20–50 years. Zinc coating weight minimum 300g/m², customizable up to 500g/m².
Cold Galvanized Pipe (Electro-galvanized, Prohibited)Thin coating of 10–50g/m² with poor adhesion and corrosion resistance. Not allowed for water and gas pipeline usage.
2. Material & Production Technology
Base Material
Conventional grade: Q195, Q215, Q235B low carbon steel. Yield strength ≥235MPa, tensile strength 370–500MPa, elongation ≥20%.
High strength grade: Q355B, applicable for high pressure and heavy load conditions.
Production Process
Degreasing → Acid pickling → Flux coating → Drying → Hot dip galvanizing → Cooling → Passivation → Inspection → Packaging
Welding Method
ERW high-frequency longitudinal welding for thin-wall pipes
SSAW submerged arc spiral welding for large-diameter thick-wall pipes

4. Product Performance
Mechanical property: Good ductility, easy bending, cutting and threading processing
Corrosion resistance: Isolate moisture and oxygen, service life 5-8 times longer than black steel pipe
Connection performance: Stable sealing effect with matched pipe fittings
5. Application Scope
Low-pressure water supply, gas pipeline, heating pipeline, fire protection system, ventilation engineering, building guardrail, steel structure support, agricultural irrigation and industrial conveying pipeline.
6. Quality Standard & Inspection
Executive Standard: GB/T 3091-2025, GB/T 13912
Inspection Items: Appearance check, zinc coating weight test, hydraulic pressure test, bending test
7. Advantages & Disadvantages
Advantages
Strong anti-corrosion capability, high mechanical strength, convenient installation, cost-effective and low maintenance cost.
Disadvantages
Not suitable for strong acid and alkali environment, toughness decreases under extremely low temperature, surface coating prone to scratch damage.
8. Installation & Maintenance
Repair coating immediately after pipe cutting. Avoid direct contact with copper and aluminum materials. Conduct regular routine inspection and surface repair.
9. Packaging & Delivery
Packed with steel binding and anti-rust film, pipe ends protected by plastic caps. Goods delivered from Tianjin port, delivery period 5-7 working days, supporting bulk and container shipment.
