Steel H Beam & H Beam In Stock,EN 10034、ASTM A992、JIS G 3192
Detailed Description of H-Beam Products
1. Product Definition
H-beam is an efficient economic section steel with H-shaped cross section, composed of upper and lower flanges and middle web. The inner and outer sides of flanges are parallel, featuring better mechanical properties than traditional I-beams, which is widely used in steel structure engineering.
2. Main Classification
Classified by Hot-Rolled Flange Width
HW (Wide Flange H-Beam): Height-width ratio close to 1, mainly used for steel columns and stiffened steel columns.
HM (Medium Flange H-Beam): Height-width ratio 1.33-1.75, applied to frame columns and platform beams.
HN (Narrow Flange H-Beam): Height-width ratio ≥2, suitable for floor beams and roof beams.
Classified by Production Method
Hot-rolled H-beam: Implemented standard GB/T 11263-2017, large output and low cost.
Welded H-beam: Implemented standard GB/T 33814-2017, applicable to super-large and non-standard sections.
Others: Thin-wall H-beam, H-pile steel.
3. Material & Execution Standards
Common Materials
Q235B: Ordinary carbon steel with high cost performance, for general structures.
Q355B: High-strength low-alloy steel, preferred for load-bearing and anti-seismic projects.
Q420B/C: Specialized for high-rise buildings and long-span constructions.
Implementation Standards
Domestic Standard: GB/T 11263, GB/T 33814International Standard: EN 10034, ASTM A992, JIS G 3192
4. Specification Expression & Dimensions
Model Representation
Height H × Flange Width B × Web Thickness t₁ × Flange Thickness t₂ (Unit: mm)Example: HW200×200×8×12
Dimension Range
Height: 100-900mmFlange Width: 50-400mmWeb Thickness: 4.5-30mmFlange Thickness: 7-39mm
5. Core Characteristics
Excellent mechanical performance: Flange bears bending force and web bears shear force with high material utilization rate; bending resistance is 5%-10% higher than I-beam of the same weight, owning great lateral stability.
Light weight and material saving: 30%-50% lighter than concrete structure to reduce foundation cost; save 15%-20% steel consumption compared with traditional section steel.
Convenient construction: Available for bolt and welding connection, short construction period; hot-rolled products can be installed directly without secondary processing.
Good seismic resistance and durability: Fine ductility ensures strong seismic performance; service life can reach more than 50 years after anti-corrosion treatment.
6. Application Fields
Building steel structure: Beams and columns of factory buildings and high-rise buildings, steel frames, stiffened columns
Bridge engineering: Highway bridges, railway bridges, pedestrian overpasses, truss beams
Industrial facilities: Equipment supports, furnace frames, pipe brackets, mine supports
Municipal engineering: Underground steel piles, supporting structures, offshore platforms, port wharves
Other fields: Tower cranes, vehicle frames, power transmission towers
7. Packaging & Delivery
Packaging: Bundled delivery, 2-5 tons per bundle, finished with anti-rust paint or black surface
Conventional Length: 6m, 9m, 12m; customized length from 5m to 18m is available
Delivery Time: Spot goods within 5-7 working days
8. Difference between H-Beam and I-Beam
H-beam: Parallel flanges with uniform thickness, large section modulus and superior stability
I-beam: Inclined inner flanges with uneven thickness, poor lateral rigidity
9. Purchasing Guidelines
Select proper type according to usage: HW/HM for columns, HN for beams
Match material with load: Q235B for common use, Q355B for heavy-load and anti-seismic projects
Strictly control size tolerance in line with GB/T 11263 standard
Strict surface inspection, free from cracks, scabs and folds, meet qualified rust grade standard
