Detailed Description of Angle Steel Products
1. Product Overview
Angle steel, commonly known as angle iron, is a long steel product with L-shaped cross-section and two sides perpendicular to each other at right angles. It belongs to carbon structural steel for construction and is a simple section profile steel.
2. Product Classification
2.1 Classification by Cross Section
Equal Angle Steel: Equal width on both sides, marked as side width × side thickness, numbered by centimeter of side width from No.2 to No.20. It features uniform stress and good symmetry with the largest consumption.
Unequal Angle Steel: Different widths of two sides, marked as long side width × short side width × side thickness. It is suitable for special load-bearing occasions.
2.2 Classification by Production Technology
Hot Rolled Angle Steel: Mainstream production process, formed by high-temperature rolling in accordance with GB/T 706-2016. It has stable size and high strength for general structural use.
Cold Formed Angle Steel: Formed by cold bending process complying with GB/T 6723-2017, featuring even wall thickness and high surface precision, widely used in light-duty structures.
2.3 Classification by Surface Treatment
Black Angle Steel: Hot rolled original color with low cost, applied to dry indoor environments.
Galvanized Angle Steel: Hot-dip galvanized or cold galvanized with excellent anti-rust and anti-corrosion performance, suitable for outdoor, humid and corrosive environments.
