Hot-rolled Steel Coil
1. Definition & Production Process
Hot-rolled steel coil refers to casting slab heated to 1100-1300℃, rolled into strip steel through rough rolling and finish rolling units, then cooled and coiled into coiled steel products.
Production process: Slab heating → Rough rolling → Finish rolling → Laminar cooling → Coiling → FinishingFeatures: Rolled at high temperature with oxide scale on surface, good toughness and easy processing.

3. Common Materials & Standards
Carbon steel: Q235B, SS400

4. Performance Advantages
Advantages: High strength, good toughness, excellent welding, bending and cutting performance, cost-effective.Disadvantages: Rough surface, ordinary dimensional accuracy, need oxide scale removal.

6. Difference between Hot Rolled & Cold Rolled Steel Coil
Production: Hot rolling at high temperature; Cold rolling processed from hot rolled raw material at room temperature
Surface: Hot rolled rough with oxide scale; Cold rolled smooth and bright
Thickness: Hot rolled thicker; Cold rolled thin
Price: Hot rolled lower; Cold rolled higher
Usage: Hot rolled for structural parts; Cold rolled for precision appearance parts
