Color Coated Coil Product Detailed Description

Color coated coil (also known as color steel coil, abbreviated as PPGI/PPGL) is a metal composite material made of hot-dip galvanized / aluminum-zinc / zinc-aluminum-magnesium steel sheet as the base substrate. It undergoes degreasing and chemical conversion treatment, then is roller-coated with organic paint on both sides and high-temperature cured. It integrates steel strength, coating corrosion resistance and decoration performance, and can be directly processed and used.

1. Core Structure (Five-layer System)

  1. Base SubstrateMaterial: Hot-dip galvanized (GI), Aluminum-zinc coated (AZ), Zinc-aluminum-magnesium (ZM); a small amount of electro-galvanized or cold-rolled sheet.Common specifications: Thickness 0.3–1.2mm; Width 1000/1200/1250mm; Galvanizing weight Z120/Z180/Z275 (g/㎡, double-sided); Aluminum-zinc coating AZ100/AZ150.

  2. Chemical Conversion CoatingComposition: Chromate / chromium-free passivation film, thickness 1–3μm.Function: Enhance coating adhesion, seal substrate micropores, improve short-term corrosion resistance.

  3. Primer LayerMaterial: Epoxy / polyester primer, thickness 5–10μm.Function: Anti-corrosion, isolate substrate from topcoat, improve interlayer adhesion.

  4. Topcoat LayerMaterial: PE Polyester, SMP Silicon Modified Polyester, HDP High Weather Resistance Polyester, PVDF Polyvinylidene Fluoride, front thickness 20–35μm.Function: Determine color, gloss, weather resistance and stain resistance.

  3. Coastal / Chemical Industrial Area / Strong Corrosion Environment: Choose PVDF (over 20 years) with excellent fluorocarbon coating on salt spray and acid-base resistance.

  4. Indoor / Home Appliance / Low Corrosion Environment: Choose PE (5–10 years) with low cost and good workability.

8. Storage & Transportation

  • Storage: Store indoors with dry and ventilated environment, temperature 5–30℃, humidity ≤60%; place flat, avoid direct sunlight, rain and heavy pressure; pad with wooden blocks at the bottom, height from ground ≥10cm.

  • Transportation: Use special coil support for firm fixing; cover with rainproof cloth to avoid sun and rain; handle with care to prevent collision and coating scratch.
