1. Basic Information
Deformed steel bar, officially named Hot Rolled Ribbed Steel Bar, is a kind of strip steel with longitudinal and transverse ribs on the surface. It can greatly enhance the bonding force with concrete. As the main load-bearing framework of reinforced concrete structures, it is an essential raw material for construction projects.

Common Grades:
HRB400 (Grade 3 Steel): Mainstream general model with balanced comprehensive performance.
HRB400E: Seismic-resistant grade, applied in earthquake fortification areas.
HRB500 (Grade 4 Steel): High strength, suitable for high-rise buildings and long-span structures.

Cold Bending Performance: No cracks after 180° cold bending, meeting construction bending requirements.
4. Production Process
Steelmaking: Smelted by converter or electric arc furnace; HRB500E and other high-grade steel adopt external refining to control impurity content.
Rolling: Steel billets are heated above 1100℃, then formed through rough rolling, intermediate rolling and finish rolling with rib patterns rolled at the same time.
Cooling: Air cooling or controlled cooling to ensure stable structure and avoid internal stress defects.
Finishing: Cut to fixed length with flat end treatment; batch inspection on mechanical properties and surface quality.
5. Product Features
Strong Concrete Bonding Force: The rib design increases contact area with concrete to prevent sliding and improve structural integrity.
High Strength: Yield strength starts from 400MPa, over 30% higher than plain round steel bar HPB300, saving steel consumption.
Excellent Seismic Performance: HRB400E has high elongation, avoiding brittle fracture during earthquakes and protecting the main structure.
Convenient Construction: Straight bar fixed length design, suitable for cutting, binding and welding, compatible with mechanized construction.
6. Application Scope
Civil Buildings: Beams, columns, floor slabs and foundations of residential buildings and office buildings (common specification: 12-25mm).
Infrastructure: Bearing structures of bridges, tunnels, culverts, airports and ports (common specification: 25-32mm).
Large-scale Projects: Super high-rise buildings, large industrial plants and water conservancy projects (HRB500 for long-span and heavy-load parts).
7. Packaging & Delivery
Packaging: Straight bars bundled in tons, 2-5 tons per bundle with firm strapping; marked with steel grade, specification, batch number and manufacturer.
Delivery State: Delivered in hot rolled condition; slight surface rust is allowed without affecting use.
Quality Certificate: Material certificate provided together with goods, including chemical composition, mechanical properties, specification and batch number.
8. Quality Identification Standard
Appearance: Clear and uniform rib patterns, no cracks or scars; flat ends with dimensional deviation complying with national standards.
Marking: Steel grade, specification and factory mark rolled on the surface, e.g. HRB400E Φ16.
Performance: Yield strength, tensile strength and elongation meet standard requirements; no cracks after cold bending test.
Material Certificate: The batch number and specification on the certificate shall be consistent with physical goods with qualified test data.
