Ship Plate Product Detailed Description

Ship plate is hot-rolled steel plate produced in accordance with classification society specifications for manufacturing hull and marine engineering structures. It features high strength, high toughness, excellent weldability and corrosion resistance, and is certified by mainstream classification societies including CCS, ABS and BV.

1. Core Classification and Grades

Classified into two main categories by strength and quality grade; grade rule: Strength + Quality Grade (e.g., AH36, EH36).

1.1 Normal Strength Ship Plate (Yield Strength ≥ 235MPa)

  • Grades: A, B, D, E (corresponding to CCSA/CCSB/CCSD/CCSE).

  • Characteristics: Low-temperature toughness increases progressively; impact temperatures are normal temperature, 0℃, -20℃ and -40℃ respectively.

  • Application: Inland river ships, coastal bulk carriers, superstructures and other low-load areas.

1.2 High Strength Ship Plate (Yield Strength 315–355MPa)

  • Strength Levels: 32 (≥315MPa), 36 (≥355MPa), 40 (≥390MPa).

  • Quality Grades: A, D, E, F (Impact temperature: Normal temperature / -20℃ / -40℃ / -60℃).

  • Typical Grades: AH32/DH32/EH32/FH32, AH36/DH36/EH36/FH36.

  • Application: Large container ships, oil tankers, LNG carriers, polar ships, offshore platforms and other key load-bearing parts.

1.3 Z-Direction Ship Plate (Lamellar Tear Resistant)

  • Grades: Z15, Z25, Z35 (Thickness direction reduction of area ≥15%/25%/35%).

  • Application: Hull joints, platform legs and other thick-plate high-stress areas.
