This knock down commercial kitchen shelving unit is built for dry storage rooms. Multiple sizes, adjustable shelf heights, flat-pack shipping — whatever the shape of your storage room, there's a configuration that fits.
Why Dry Storage Rooms Need purpose-Built Shelving
1. Adjustable Shelf Height — Because Dry Goods Don't Come in Uniform Sizes
Things in a dry storage room vary wildly in height:

Important: If carts need to pass through the aisle, we recommend 40cm or 50cm depth to preserve adequate aisle width. We'll confirm this with you before quoting.
3. Stainless Steel — 201 Is Usually Fine for Dry Storage
Dry storage rooms are humidity-controlled with no direct water exposure. 201 stainless steel is typically adequate and more cost-effective.
If your dry storage room is adjacent to a dish pit or prep area and has higher humidity, we recommend upgrading to 304 stainless steel for better corrosion resistance.
We have 201 units in dry storage applications that have been in service 4+ years without visible corrosion. But if it's placed near a wok station or steamer — like one of our Guangzhou customers — surface rust can appear after 18 months. Match the material to the actual environment.
4. Triangular Reinforcement — Dry Storage Racks Are Usually Fully Loaded
Shelving in dry storage rooms tends to stay at or near full capacity. It's not like a display shelf that gets rearranged daily.
Each shelf has triangular reinforcement ribs underneath to distribute weight evenly and reduce flex under sustained loads.
Load capacity: 200-300 kg per shelf (evenly distributed), depending on tier count and shelf dimensions. We test every batch at 1.5x rated load before shipping.
5. Knock Down Design — Fits Through Narrow Doors and Corridors
Dry storage rooms are often compact, sometimes in basements or on 2nd floors, with narrow access.
Welded racks ship as one piece — they get stuck in corridors and won't fit in standard elevators.
Our knock-down units ship in compact cartons. Volume reduction is roughly 60-70% compared to welded racks. They fit in standard elevators, through standard single doors, and — this matters — two people can carry them up a stairwell.

Q: How do I measure my storage room to get the right size? A: Measure length, width, and height. Also note: where is the door? Which direction does it open? Is there a cart that needs to pass through the aisle? Send us the numbers — we'll recommend the right size so you don't buy the wrong one.
Q: The room is narrow — will a cart still fit through the aisle? A: Usually, yes — if you choose 40cm or 50cm depth. We recommend at least 60cm of clear aisle width for a standard cart. Tell us your room dimensions and we'll confirm before you order.
Q: Is 201 stainless steel safe for direct contact with dry food? A: For dry, non-acidic food stored in original packaging, yes, 201 is fine. If unpackaged food will sit directly on the shelf, or if you're in a high-humidity environment, we recommend 304.
Q: Can the shelf height be adjusted after initial assembly? A: Yes, at any time. No tools needed. Loosen the buckles, lift the shelf, reposition, lock. One person can do it in a few minutes per shelf.
Q: What if my storage room isn't a perfect rectangle? A: Send us a rough sketch with dimensions. We've dealt with irregular rooms before — sometimes the solution is a custom length, sometimes it's adjusting the placement. We'll figure it out with you.
