Angle Steel Product Detailed Description
1. Product Overview
Angle steel, commonly known as angle iron, is a long steel product with an L-shaped cross-section and two sides perpendicular to each other at 90 degrees. It belongs to simple section section steel and is widely used in construction, engineering and mechanical structural projects.
2. Product Classification
1. By Section Shape
Equal Angle Steel: With two equal side widths. Specification marked as Side Width×Side Width×Thickness, e.g., ∠50×50×5mm.
Unequal Angle Steel: With different lengths of two sides. Specification marked as Long Side×Short Side×Thickness, e.g., ∠63×40×6mm.
2. By Production Process
Hot Rolled Angle Steel: Formed by high-temperature rolling, stable mechanical properties, with natural oxide skin on surface, suitable for heavy-duty structures.
Cold Formed Angle Steel: Cold bent at normal temperature, high dimensional accuracy and smooth surface, applied to light-duty structures.
3. By Material Grade
Carbon Structural Steel: Q235B, most widely used, low cost and good weldability.
Low Alloy High Strength Steel: Q355B (Q345), high tensile strength, used for bridges, transmission towers and other heavy-load projects.
Special Grade: Weathering steel Q355NH, stainless steel 304/316, applied in anti-corrosion and decorative environments.
4. By Surface Treatment
Black Finish Angle Steel: Original hot rolled surface, needs rust removal and anti-corrosion treatment.
Hot Dip Galvanized Angle Steel: Zinc coating 30–50μm, excellent anti-corrosion performance, ideal for outdoor and chemical industrial environments.
Painted / Oil Coated Angle Steel: Temporary rust prevention, suitable for indoor dry environments.

Executive Standard: GB/T 706-2016
Equal Angle Steel: Side width 20–200mm, thickness 3–24mm; model named by centimeter of side width (e.g., 5# = 50mm).
Unequal Angle Steel: Long side 25–200mm, short side 16–125mm, thickness 3–18mm.
Standard Length: 6m, 9m, 12m; customized length available.
Theoretical Weight: Calculated by steel density 7.85g/cm³.
4. Chemical Composition & Mechanical Properties (Q235B)
Chemical Composition: C≤0.22%, Mn 0.30%–0.65%, P≤0.045%, S≤0.050%.
Mechanical Properties:Yield Strength ≥235MPaTensile Strength: 370–500MPaElongation ≥26%180° cold bending test qualified.
5. Executive Standards
Chinese Standard: GB/T 706-2016, GB/T 2101-2017, GB/T 700, GB/T 1591
International Standard: ASTM A36, EN 10025, JIS G3101
