Rotary Grille Machine (Rotary Bar Screen)
A rotary grille machine (also known as a rotary bar screen or mechanical rake screen) is a continuous solid-liquid separation device for wastewater pretreatment. It intercepts and removes floating debris and large suspended solids from water to protect downstream pumps and equipment.
Main Structure
Rake Tooth Chain: Closed chain with stainless steel/ABS rake teeth, set at clearances of 5–50 mm.
Drive Unit: Gear motor + sprockets, driving the chain at 0.5–3 rpm.
Frame & Screen Bars: Stainless steel structure; fixed bars form the filtering surface.
Overload Protection: Torque limiter + alarm; stops automatically if jammed.
Self-Cleaning System: Brushes/water spray at the top to remove debris from rakes.
Working Principle
Installed at an angle (60°–75°) in the inlet channel.
Wastewater flows through the screen gaps; debris larger than the gap is intercepted.
The motor drives the rake chain to rotate against the flow.
Rakes lift debris upward to the top discharge point.
Debris drops by gravity; brushes/water spray clean the rakes for reuse.
Operation is automatically controlled by water level difference or timer.
