Artificial Graphite Columnar

Artificial graphite columnar refers to man-made graphite shaped into rods or columns, often from petroleum coke, processed at extremely high temperatures to create a highly structured, pure carbon material used primarily as a high-efficiency recarburizer (carbon additive) in foundries to improve molten iron quality, or as components in batteries, electrodes, and lubricants. These columnar forms have large pores and a structure that promotes rapid dissolution and uniform graphite distribution in metals, enhancing casting properties like strength and reducing defects.

Key Characteristics & Uses:
1. Source Material: Typically made from petroleum coke or coal tar pitch, shaped, and then graphitized at temperatures over 2500°C (5400°F).
2. Structure: Possesses a regular, well-defined crystalline structure with wide molecular spacing, allowing for faster decomposition in molten metal.
3. Foundry Industry: Acts as a "recarburizer," rapidly adding carbon to iron/steel, increasing graphite nucleation, refining graphite structure, and improving casting quality (e.g., in ductile iron).
Other Applications: Used in lithium-ion battery anodes, electrical contacts, friction materials, and as solid lubricants.
Form: Produced as cylinders, blocks, or rods, often with controlled porosity for specific absorption rates.
In essence, artificial columnar graphite is a high-performance carbon product engineered for specific industrial needs, offering superior purity and structure compared to natural graphite in many applications

Difference of CPC Calcined Petroleum Coke and GPC Graphitized Petroleum Coke

Appearance In appearance, the calcined coke has an irregular shape, while the graphitized petroleum coke has a darker and brighter color.
Application Graphitized petroleum coke and calcined petroleum coke are used in steel smelting and casting manufacturing industries, but graphitized petroleum coke has the advantages of low sulfur, low nitrogen and high carbon compared with calcined coke, and the metal luster is stronger.
Manufacturing technique Graphitized petroleum coke is produced when the internal structure changes at a high temperature of about 3000 degrees, and the temperature of calcined coke is about 1300 degrees.

The difference between CPC Calcined Petroleum Coke Recarburizer and GPC Graphitized Petroleum Coke Carburant

Raw Materials petroleum coke
Smelting Environment Graphitized carburizer is produced in graphitized smelting furnace at a temperature of about 3000 ° C
The post-calcined petroleum coke carburizer is produced at a temperature of more than 1500 ºC in the smelting furnace after forging

Fixed Carbon Content
Graphitized carburizer fixed carbon is generally about 98%, the highest can reach 99%
The fixed carbon of calcined petroleum coke carburizer is generally about 98.5%.
Sulfur Content The sulfur content of graphitization carburizer is generally between 0.03-0.06%, and generally 0.05% is more. The absorption rate is generally between 90% and 95%.
The sulfur content of calcined petroleum coke carburizer is generally about 0.5%. The absorption rate is generally between 80% and 90%.

Smelting Time
The smelting environment of graphitized carburizer is longer than that of calcined petroleum coke carburizer
