Cold Rolled Steel Coil (CRC) is made from hot rolled coils as raw material, produced via cold rolling, annealing, finishing and other processes at room temperature (below recrystallization temperature). It features excellent surface finish, high dimensional accuracy, and good formability, making it a basic raw material for home appliances, automobiles, precision manufacturing and other industries.
1. Core Definition & Production Process
1.1 Product Definition
Also known as “cold coil”. Steel strip delivered in coils is called coil sheet; steel sheet delivered in sheets is called flat steel sheet (sheet/box plate). Produced without heating, CRC is free from hot rolling pitting and oxide scale, with significantly better surface quality and precision than hot rolled coils.
1.2 Standard Production Flow
Pickling: Remove oxide scale from hot rolled coils to ensure clean rolling surface and improve surface quality.
Cold Continuous Rolling: Multi-pass rolling to target thickness, achieving thin gauge (0.15–4 mm) and high precision tolerance.
Annealing: Batch or continuous annealing to eliminate internal stress, reduce yield strength, improve stamping and forming performance.
Finishing: Skin passing, trimming, straightening, oiling to control flatness, surface grade and rust protection.

Coil Weight: 5–15 tons (normal), up to 30 tons
Sheet Length: 1200–6000 mm (cut-to-length delivery)

3. Surface Quality
3.1 Surface Grades
FA: General surface, minor defects allowed for non-visual parts
FB: Higher surface, suitable for home appliance panels and general appearance parts
FC: High-grade finish, for automotive structural parts and electrical enclosures
FD: Ultra-high-grade finish, for automotive outer panels and high-end home appliances
3.2 Surface Finishes
Bright finish (B): Mirror-like gloss, for visible parts
Matte finish (m): Soft non-reflective surface, for home appliance panels
General smooth finish (g): Medium gloss, versatile

5. Packaging, Marking, Storage & Delivery Time
5.1 Standard Export Packaging
Inner layer: Anti-rust paper/film + plastic film for oxidation and scratch resistance
Middle layer: Edge and corner protectors
Outer layer: Steel strapping + metal corner guards for stable transportation
Special: Waterproof, moisture-proof, anti-salt spray packaging for sea freight available
5.2 Marking & MTC
Marking includes: brand/logo, standard, grade, specification, weight, heat number.
Mill Test Certificate (MTC) includes chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensional tolerance, surface quality.
5.3 Delivery Time
The delivery time is 5-7 days after the order is confirmed.
