The hydraulic system is one of the important components of mobile machinery equipment. During the operation of the hydraulic system, hydraulic oil plays roles such as energy transfer, system lubrication, anti-corrosion and anti-rust, and cooling, which have an important impact on the operation of the hydraulic system. Hydraulic oil is very easily contaminated by rust, dust, water, air, high temperature, and mixed oil. Among them, various impurities such as rust and dust are the main sources of pollution. According to statistics, more than 75% of hydraulic system failures are caused by the mixing of impurities in the hydraulic oil. After impurities are mixed into the hydraulic oil, they circulate with the hydraulic oil and block the gaps between relatively moving parts, thereby intensifying the internal leakage of the hydraulic cylinder, reducing system efficiency and increasing heat generation, leading to the deterioration of the oil, and seriously affecting the normal operation of the hydraulic system. If the particle size of the impurities mixed into the hydraulic oil exceeds 14μm, it may cause hydraulic system failures, while the particle size of the smallest visible particles to the naked eye is about 40μm. Therefore, the seemingly clean hydraulic oil may actually be severely contaminated by solid particles.
Filters can filter out solid particles and colloidal substances in the working medium, thereby effectively controlling the degree of hydraulic oil contamination, ensuring the safe operation of the equipment, and extending the service life of the equipment. Currently, the filtration accuracy of the mainstream filters on the market is 8 - 12μm, and the hydraulic oil needs to be replaced every time it works, which brings great pressure to equipment maintenance and cost control. After comprehensive analysis of the usage scenarios of mobile machinery equipment, Konecranes found that long - term filtration can reduce the frequency of hydraulic oil replacement and significantly shorten the downtime, thus better meeting the needs of customers. The filtration grade of the long - term hydraulic filter independently developed by Konecranes reaches 3μm. Under the condition of ensuring the safe operation of the equipment, it can extend the service life of hydraulic oil from 4000 h under the conditions of using ordinary filters to 12000 h, thus achieving cost reduction and efficiency improvement to the greatest extent.
