1. Select according to production capacity. Generally, the instruction manual and nameplate of the crusher indicate the rated production capacity (kg/hour) of the crusher. However, several points should be noted: ⑴ The rated production capacity indicated refers to the output under specific conditions. For example, for a grain feed crusher, it means that the crushed raw material has a moisture content of the safe storage moisture (about 13%), and the diameter of the sieve hole is 1.2 mm. Since corn is a commonly used grain feed, and a sieve with a 1.2 mm diameter hole is a commonly used small sieve hole, at this time, the production capacity is small, which takes into account the relatively common and difficult state in production. ⑵ The selected production capacity of the crusher should be slightly larger than the actual required production capacity. Otherwise, factors such as increased wear of the hammer blades and air leakage in the air duct will lead to a decrease in production capacity, affecting the continuous production and supply of feed.
2. Select according to the crushed raw materials. For crushing mainly grain feeds, a hammer mill with top feeding can be selected; for crushing mainly bran, cereal and wheat feeds, a claw crusher can be selected; if good versatility is required, mainly for crushing grains and also taking into account cakes, grains and straws, a tangential feeding hammer mill can be selected; for crushing mineral feeds such as shells, a shell sieve - less crusher can be selected; if it is used for the pre - treatment of premixed feeds and requires the product to be crushed to a very fine particle size and adjustable as needed, a sieve - less crusher should be selected.
3. Select according to the discharge method. There are 3 ways for the crushed finished products to be output through the discharge device: self - gravity discharging, negative pressure suction and mechanical conveying. Small single - unit machines mostly use the self - gravity discharging method to simplify the structure. Most medium - sized crushers are equipped with a negative pressure suction device. The advantage is that it can absorb the moisture of the finished products, reduce the humidity in the finished products for better storage, improve the crushing efficiency by 10 - 15%, and reduce the dust level in the crushing chamber. 4. Select according to the matching power. Both the machine instruction manual and the nameplate indicate the power in kilowatts of the motor matched with the crusher. It often shows not a fixed number but a certain range. For example, for the 9FQ - 20 crusher, the matching power is 7.5 - 11 kilowatts; for the 9FQ - 60 crusher, the matching power is 30 - 40 kilowatts. There are two reasons for this. One is that the power required varies greatly when crushing different varieties of raw materials. For example, under the same working conditions, the power required for crushing sorghum is twice that for crushing corn. The other is that when different sieve holes are used, it has a great impact on the load of the crusher. Therefore, when the 9FQ - 60 crusher uses a sieve with a 1.2 mm diameter hole, the motor capacity should be 40 kilowatts; when a sieve with a 2 mm diameter hole is used, a 30 - kilowatt motor can be selected, and for a 3 mm diameter hole, a 22 - kilowatt motor can be selected. Otherwise, it will cause a certain degree of waste.
5. Select according to energy - saving conditions. According to the standards of relevant departments, when a hammer mill crushes corn using a sieve with a 1.2 mm diameter hole, the output per kilowatt - hour should not be less than 48 kg. At present, the output per kilowatt - hour of domestic hammer mills has greatly exceeded the above - mentioned regulations, and high - quality ones can reach 70 - 75 kg per kilowatt - hour.
6. Choose according to dust and noise. The dust and noise in feed processing mainly come from the crusher. When selecting a model, full consideration should be given to these two environmental sanitation indicators. If you have to choose a crusher with high noise and dust, noise reduction and dust prevention measures should be taken to improve the working environment and be beneficial to the physical health of the operators.
