Product Description
Sodium Metabisulfite is a white to yellowish crystalline powder with a pungent sulfur dioxide odor. It is readily soluble in water, and the aqueous solution is acidic. It is an important reducing agent, bleaching agent, and preservative, widely used in food processing, textile dyeing, water treatment, and chemical synthesis.

Food Processing: As a food additive (E223), used as a preservative, bleaching agent, and antioxidant in dried fruits, starch sugars, fruit juices, wine, etc.

Water Treatment: Serves as a dechlorinating agent, oxygen scavenger, and bactericide for industrial circulating water, boiler feedwater, and wastewater treatment.

Textile Industry: Used as a bleaching agent, dechlorinating agent, and reducing agent for bleaching and after-treatment of cotton, linen, wool, and other fibers.
