Function and Application
Based on the testing principle of the infrared moisture sensor, it provides high-precision and high-efficiency water vapor transmission rate testing for materials with high and medium gas barrier properties. It is suitable for the water vapor transmission rate testing of various film materials such as plastic films, paper-plastic composite films, co-extruded films, aluminized films, aluminum foil composite films, glass fiber aluminum foil paper composite films, etc. in fields such as food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, daily chemicals, photovoltaics, electronics, etc. It is also applicable to the water vapor transmission rate testing of sheet materials such as PP sheets, PVC sheets, PVDC sheets, metal foils, rubber sheets, silicon wafers, and the water vapor transmission performance testing of related materials.
Test Principle
It is based on the testing principle of an infrared moisture sensor. The pre-treated sample is clamped between the test chambers. Nitrogen with a stable relative humidity flows on one side of the film, and dry nitrogen flows on the other side of the film. Due to the presence of a humidity difference, water vapor will diffuse through the film from the high-humidity side to the low-humidity side. On the low-humidity side, the permeated water vapor is carried by the flowing dry nitrogen to the infrared moisture sensor. Different water vapor concentrations generate different optical signals. By analyzing and calculating, an electrical current value is obtained, and then the water vapor transmission rate of the sample is calculated.
