Intended Use:

Based on the infrared moisture sensor principle, it provides high-precision and high-efficiency water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) testing for high and medium barrier materials. It is suitable for WVTR testing of film materials such as plastic films, paper-plastic composite films, co-extruded films, aluminized films, aluminum foil composite films, and glass fiber aluminum foil paper composite films, as well as sheet materials like PP, PVC, PVDC, metal foils, rubber, and silicon wafers in the fields of food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, daily chemicals, photovoltaics, electronics, etc.

Operating Principle:

Based on the principle of the infrared moisture sensor. The pre-conditioned specimen is clamped between the test chambers. Nitrogen with stable relative humidity flows on one side of the film, while dry nitrogen flows on the other side. Due to the humidity gradient, water vapor diffuses from the high-humidity side through the film to the low-humidity side. On the low-humidity side, the permeated water vapor is carried by the flowing dry nitrogen to the infrared moisture sensor. Different concentrations of water vapor generate distinct optical signals, which are analyzed to determine current values and subsequently calculate the water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) of the specimen.
