The casting material is a multi-component mixture tailored for insulation and molding performance, with the following key components:


Core Function & Technical Note

Resin The matrix component, usually epoxy resin (e.g., bisphenol A-type) for dry-type transformer casting. It provides basic insulation, mechanical strength, and adhesion to the workpiece (e.g., transformer windings).

Curing Agent Reacts with resin to trigger cross-linking and hardening. Common types include anhydride-based or amine-based curing agents, which determine the curing speed, temperature resistance, and final mechanical properties of the cast part.

Accelerator Reduces the activation energy of the resin-curing agent reaction, shortens curing time, and lowers the required curing temperature (e.g., tertiary amines or imidazole derivatives are widely used).

Coloring Agent Organic/inorganic pigments (e.g., iron oxide red, carbon black) added in small doses. It imparts a specific color for product identification or aesthetics without compromising insulation performance.
2. General Requirements for Casting Equipment
To ensure stable casting quality, efficient production, and safe operation, the equipment must meet the following requirements:
2.1 Casting Environment & Performance Guarantee
  • Casting shall be conducted under a full vacuum state (ultimate vacuum ≤50Pa for the casting tank). This ensures the cast product complies with production process standards throughout the manufacturing cycle (e.g., no bubble defects), while significantly improving the working environment and reducing labor intensity.

2.2 Material Pretreatment & Feeding
  • Resin and curing agent must be preprocessed: softened and dried in an oven (to remove moisture, typically requiring a moisture content ≤0.1%) before being separately added to the mixing tank.

  • Material feeding into the mixing tank shall use manual metering (e.g., via electronic scales with an accuracy of ±0.5%) to strictly control the mixing ratio of resin and curing agent (critical for ensuring the final product’s performance).

2.3 Degassing Technology
  • The mixing tank shall adopt film degassing technology (spreads the casting material into a thin film to maximize gas release surface area). This enables full and rapid degassing of the casting material, which is essential for enhancing partial discharge (PD) performance (PD intensity ≤5pC) and surface quality (eliminating bubble-induced pits or cracks).

2.4 Heating System
  • The heating system shall use electric heating with thermal oil heat transfer (thermal oil as the heat carrier). This design ensures uniform temperature distribution (temperature uniformity ≤±2℃ within the tank) and avoids local overheating of the material.
