Working Process

The operation of the Disc Pelletizer is a continuous and visual process:

Feeding: The raw powder mixture (e.g., compost, fertilizer formula, bentonite) is continuously fed onto the rotating disc.

Liquid Spraying: A fine mist of binder or water is sprayed onto the bed of material to initiate nucleation.

Nucleation and Growth: As the disc rotates, the moistened fines collide and adhere, forming small seed particles (nuclei). These nuclei are continuously lifted by the rotation and then tumble down through the incoming feed, acting as a core for layered growth, much like a rolling snowball.

Spheronization: The tumbling and rolling motion inside the disc gradually shapes the particles into dense, spherical granules.

Discharge: Once the granules reach the desired size, they overflow the rim of the disc due to centrifugal force and are discharged for the next stage, typically drying and screening.

This entire pelletizing process is easily observable, allowing operators to make real-time adjustments for optimal results.
