Rib Lath With High Strength and Great Plaster Bonding Capacity
Rib lath is manufactured by punching and profiling galvanized steel sheet or stainless steel sheet.
Rib lath, also known as expanded ribbed lath, has V-ribs to offer an increased tensile strength and give a uniform plastering depth over a large coating area. Compared with common metal lath, V ribs provide added support capacity and its unique structure offers better permeability, thereby delivering greater plaster bonding and fixing properties.
It is extensively used in plastering works on walls and suspended ceilings and serves as plaster base for building construction.
Diamond mesh lathis used as a substrate for Portland cement or gypsum plaster on either interior or exterior walls, ceilings,
soffit and fascia surfaces, and can be used under ceramic tile in wall, ceiling and floor applications.It’s useful in all general-purpose applications and is the best lath available for ornamental work and contoured surfaces, as well a spray applied fireproofing.
V groove or Dimpled Diamond Metal Lath?
Self-Furring V-Groove Metal Lath features a unique V-groove pattern with self-furring projections, enhancing material embedment and ensuring a strong, durable base for finishes. Grooved diamond mesh lath can be made with paper-backed or no paper.
Grooved Self-Furred Diamond Metal Lath Design: V grooves in the lath, technically, 5 V shape grooves in the lath, instead of standard dimples as in Dimpled Metal Lath.
Features: The 5 grooves provide the necessary 1/4” furring off the sheathing’s surface to allow for proper embedment and keying of the scratch coat on all types of walls.
Finishes are G60 hot-dipped galvanized steel, or G90 hot dipped galvanized steel.
Dimpled Diamond Metal Lath is designed with a diamond-shaped pattern that is dimpled to enhance its structural integrity. The dimples increase the surface area of the lath, providing superior keying and bonding properties for plaster, stucco, or other coatings. This design not only improves adhesion but also enhances the overall strength and durability of the lath.
Dimpled metal lath offers excellent adhesion, increased strength, corrosion resistance, lightweight flexibility, fire resistance, and allows for ventilation and drainage. Dimpled diamond metal lathing is ideal for reinforcing plaster and stucco in construction, masonry applications, ceilings, soffits, decorative architectural elements, fireproofing, soundproofing, and restoration projects.

Firmwin Diamond Mesh Lath makes excellent plaster base and brick wall reinforcement, used to hold plaster, cement on roof, wall, ceiling, floor or tile to reinforce them, in the following constructions:
Walls;
Ceilings;
Fireproofing system of steel beam, and columns.
Installation tips:
Fastener placement should be arranged for ideal furring;
Self furring rib lath used over solid surfaces shall be furred approximately ¼ inch away from the wall to allow for the proper stucco keying behind;
Self-Furred Metal Lath is secured to masonry surfaces with hardened concrete nails and power driven fasteners at the furring dimples;
Paper backed lath is often used in this type of application as a bond breaker.
