Key technology
(1) VLAN technology
The VLAN technology can effectively avoid malicious attacks on broadcast data. The main cause of malicious attacks on broadcast data is that the conflict domain of the Ethernet switch is inconsistent with the broadcast domain. In this case, the VLAN technology, also known as the local area network technology, can be used to limit the scope of the broadcast domain to solve this problem. LAN technology can effectively separate traffic, make better use of bandwidth, and from a logical point of view, split the actual LAN infrastructure into multiple subnets. The practical application of LAN technology can not only solve the problem of broadcast malicious attacks, but also effectively enhance the network security, not only that, the use of VLAN technology can effectively reduce the cost of movement and change, in the case of physical subnets, quickly complete the user change, the need for a short time. However, there are some problems in the actual use of VLAN technology, such as interface problems and label introduction problems.
(2) Priority of information flow
In the process of data transmission, the transmission mode of multimedia data is different from that of ordinary data, and multimedia data has higher requirements for network performance during transmission. In order to improve the transmission performance of multimedia data, information flow priority technology can be used to achieve transmission. There are two common methods for information flow priority allocation, respectively: First, with the help of the switch to complete the confirmation of the input information flow, and then classify the information flow and allocate the corresponding priority, the general Layer 3 Ethernet switch can achieve this way. The other one uses the terminal to assign priority to the data frame, and places the data frame in the corresponding priority queue, and forwards the data according to the priority. In the second way, all switches on the path between the source end and the destination end can identify priority flags. There are two organizations dedicated to specifying traffic priority standards, namely IEEE802.IP, which is more suitable for switched Ethernet environments, and IPV4TOS domain, where the IPV4 service type domain priority standard is mainly used in wide area networks.
(3) Multicast technology
Ethernet switches are often involved in point-to-multipoint communication in network applications, especially in multimedia applications. Multicast technology is a common way to implement point-to-multipoint communication. Traditional point-to-multipoint communication not only wastes bandwidth, but also easily causes delay and congestion, and even generates some useless broadcast packets, which adversely affects system performance. In multicast technology, the sender only needs to send a packet once, and the router and switch will automatically copy the packet to each terminal that really wants to receive the packet. In this way to effectively solve the problem of point-to-multipoint transmission, it should be noted that the implementation of multicast at the network layer is more complicated, and the multicast functions at the third and second layers need to be analyzed in detail, which will be applied to the network topology technology and GMRP technology. GMRP technology is the premise of implementing multicast technology, if you want to implement multicast in several switching domains separated by routers, you need to use multicast routing protocol and IGMP. For example, Layer 3 switches, as the core switching network, support not only GMRP, but also multicast routing protocol and IGMP.
