The IC693APU302P is a two-axis positioning module (APM) manufactured by GE Fanuc for motion and position control.
Main applications:
Used as a motion and position control element, it can control two axes or two servo motors to achieve simultaneous control of motion and position.
Working mode:
The module is a smart module that can be configured to run in both standard and follow mode.
In standard mode, the module runs and integrates the control with the user logic in the PLC memory for high performance control.
In driven mode, the module provides high performance electronic drives for both master and slave applications.
Programming and configuration:
The module is fully programmable and consists of a 2-axis motion control function, allowing complex PLC logic functions to be solved in an integrated system.
Configure using VersaPro software version 1.1 or later.
Interfaces and connections:
The front panel of the module is fitted with two moving-shaft ports via 9-pin D-shell connectors, as well as two 25-pin high-density ports to house the servo connections.
Custom cables can be used to establish connections to modules, but pre-assembled cables such as the IC693CBL311 (10 ft /3 m in length), IC693CBL319 (3 ft /1 m in length) are also available for faster wiring and terminating.
Compatibility:
Compatible series 90-30 for use with the IC693APU302 two-axis APM are CPU 311, CPU 313, and CPU 323, of which up to three APM modules can be installed.
For CPU 331 or later, there are eight modules in a system, up to three on each baseboard.
Motion program storage:
Up to 10 motion programs can be created and stored in the APM module.
Expanded diagnostic capabilities:
Extended diagnostic capabilities are provided, such as individual short-circuit diagnostics for each connector (two channels), and diagnosis results are reported over the fieldbus, facilitating the generation of error messages on the HMI.
Cables and Connectors:
The APM cable consists of a 24-pin I/O connector, a cable, and a 25-pin D-terminal connector.
24-pin I/O cables are used to build custom length cables and are available in three different kits: press-wire receptacles, sold-hole receptacles, and IDC (strip) receptacles.
