Product Description
Stainless steel pipes are widely used in various industries due to their excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and durability. The most common grades of stainless steel used for pipes are SS304, SS316, ASTM 202, 304, and 304L.
SS304 is an austenitic stainless steel that contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. It has excellent corrosion resistance and is often used in food processing, chemical processing, and pharmaceutical industries.
SS316 is also an austenitic stainless steel that contains 16% chromium, 10% nickel, and 2% molybdenum. It has better corrosion resistance than SS304 and is often used in marine and coastal environments.
ASTM 202 is a low-nickel austenitic stainless steel that contains 16-18% chromium and 4-6% nickel. It is often used in applications where high strength and corrosion resistance are required.
304 and 304L are also austenitic stainless steels that contain 18% chromium and 8% nickel. 304L has a lower carbon content than 304, which makes it more suitable for welding applications.
Welded and seamless stainless steel pipes are available in various sizes and thicknesses to suit different applications. Welded pipes are made by rolling a flat strip of stainless steel into a tube and then welding the edges together. Seamless pipes are made by piercing a solid block of stainless steel and then drawing it out into a tube. Both types of pipes have their own advantages and disadvantages, and the choice depends on the specific application and requirements.
