Introduction
ZHEJIANG ZHONGZHENG STAINLESS STEE MANUFACTURING CO. LTD. iis a special stainless steel manufacturer with 20 years of manufacturing experience.
15-7PH is a chromium-nickel-molybdenum-aluminium, semi-austenitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel used for applications requiring moderate corrosion resistance and high strength. The alloy is weldable by conventional methods, although the material has less superior weldability when compared to other PH steels, such as 17-4PH, due to the amount of aluminium included in the alloying process. The product retains its excellent mechanical properties up to temperatures of 482°C (900°F). 15-7PH is easily formed in the annealed condition and offers minimum distortion after heat treatment.
600 Series Stainless 15-7PH Applications
Grade 15-7 stainless steel is used in the following applications:
Diaphragms
Welded and brazed honeycomb panels
Retaining rings
Aircraft bulkheads
Springs
Other applications requiring high strength at elevated temperatures
Weldability
Grade 15-7 stainless steel can be welded using common arc and resistance methods. Inert gas shielding is avoided in order to prevent oxidation of aluminum.
Annealing
Grade 15-7 stainless steel is annealed at 1038°C (1900°F) followed by cooling rapidly.
Machinability
Grade 15-7 stainless steel has good machinability in the hardened condition.
Cold Working
Grade 15-7 stainless steel is limited to cold working.
Hot Working
Grade 15-7 stainless steel has good hot working capacity. This process should be followed by annealing in order to respond heat treatment.
