Yokogawa SAI143-H63
Overview
The SAI143-H63 is an analog input module supporting 4-20mA signal input, with 16 channels, collective isolation, and HART communication function. The signal cable interface adapter has no explosion-proof function. It complies with ISA standard G3 and operates within a temperature range of -20°C to 70°C.
Functional Features
  • It enables high-precision analog signal acquisition, accurately converting 4-20mA analog inputs into digital signals for system processing.

  • Supports HART communication protocol, allowing two-way communication with field instruments compatible with HART to achieve functions like instrument parameter setting and status monitoring.

  • The 16-channel design enables simultaneous acquisition of multiple analog signals, improving module usage efficiency and system integration.

  • Collective isolation effectively prevents cross-channel interference and external signal interference, enhancing the module's anti-interference capability and stability.

Technical Parameters
  • Input signal: 4-20mA

  • Number of channels: 16 channels

  • Communication method: HART communication

  • Isolation method: Collective isolation

  • Wiring method: Signal cable interface adapter connection

  • Standard: ISA standard G3

  • Operating temperature: -20°C to 70°C

Working Principle
Similar to the SAI143-H33, the module integrates a signal conditioning circuit and an analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion circuit. The 4-20mA analog signal output by field sensors first enters the signal conditioning circuit for amplification, filtering, and other processing to adjust the signal to a range suitable for A/D conversion. The A/D conversion circuit then converts the analog signal into a digital signal, which is transmitted via the module's communication interface to the connected control system (e.g., DCS system) for subsequent control and processing.

Common Faults and Solutions1. Abnormal signal acquisition
  • Possible cause: Mismatch between module range settings and sensor output range.
Solution: Check and reset the module's range parameters.

  • Possible cause: Sensor failure or wiring issues.
Solution: Replace the sensor and inspect wiring for looseness.

2. HART communication failure
  • Symptom: Inability to communicate normally with HART instruments.

  • Possible cause: Incorrect communication cable connection or inconsistent HART address settings between the instrument and module configuration.
Solution: Verify cable connections and reset the address to match the configuration.

  • Possible cause: Incorrect communication parameter settings (e.g., baud rate, parity).
Solution: Check and correct parameters such as baud rate and parity.

3. Abnormal module indicator lights
  • Possible cause: Abnormal module power supply.
Solution: Check if the power supply is normal and the voltage is within the module's allowable range.

  • Possible cause: Internal hardware failure (e.g., circuit short, chip damage).
Solution: Contact professional maintenance personnel or the manufacturer's after-sales service for repair.

4. Fluctuation in analog signals
  • Possible cause: Unconnected power supply between the analog input module and field sensor, causing common-mode voltage interference.
Solution: Connect the negative terminal of the field sensor to the public M terminal of the module.

  • Possible cause: Long wiring, poor insulation, or electromagnetic interference.
Solution: Use shielded twisted-pair cables for signal lines, ground the shield layer at the PLC side with single-point grounding, and keep analog signal cables away from strong interference sources (e.g., frequency converters, high-power motors).
