Bently Nevada 3500/50-01-00-01 Rotational speed measurement module

I. Input and Output Parameters

Input signal

Sensor type:

Magnetoresistive sensor: Frequency range 0.5 Hz - 10 kHz, suitable for medium and high-speed scenarios.

Eddy current sensor: Voltage range -20 VDC to 0 VDC, suitable for high-temperature, high-speed or precise

measurement.

Tooth configuration: Supports custom gear tooth count (such as 60 teeth) for speed conversion (speed = frequency ×

60 / number of teeth).

2. Output signal

Analog output

4-20 mA (isolated type), configurable corresponding speed range (such as 0-50,000 RPM mapped to 4-20 mA).

Output load: Up to 500Ω (when powered by 24 VDC).

Digital output: Transmitted to the host via the 3500 system bus, supporting rotational speed, key phase, and zero

rotational speed status data.

Ii. Measure performance parameters

The rotational speed measurement range is 0-50,000 RPM (corresponding frequency 0-833 Hz, taking a 60-tooth gear

as an example).

Resolution: 0.1 RPM (affected by the number of sensor teeth and signal quality)

Measurement accuracy: ±0.1% full scale or ±1 RPM (take the larger value)

Zero-speed detection can be configured with a threshold (typical value: 0-100 RPM), and the response time is ≤50 ms

Key phase accuracy ±0.5° mechanical Angle (depending on gear processing accuracy and sensor installation)

Iii. Electrical and Environmental Parameters

Power supply: Uniformly powered by the 3500 frame (24 VDC ±10%), power consumption ≤5 W.

Communication interface: 3500 system internal bus (connected to framework interface modules such as 3500/92),

supporting RS-485 protocol.

Working temperature:

Operating temperature: -40°C to +70°C

Storage: -40°C to +85°C.

Protection grade: The module body IP20 (needs to be installed in the control cabinet), in compliance with the NEMA

1/2/12 standard.

Certification: Complies with API 670 and ISO 10816-3 standards, and supports hazardous area certifications such as

ATEX and CSA (additional configuration required).

Iv. Alarm and Protection Parameters

Configurable threshold:

Level 2 rotational speed alarm (warning/danger), supporting delay time setting (0-10 seconds);

Level 1 zero-speed trip threshold, used for mechanical shutdown protection.

Signal anomaly detection: Supports sensor disconnection and short circuit detection, and automatically triggers alarm

output.

V. Functional Features

Multi-sensor compatibility: Supports reluctance and eddy current sensors, suitable for different mechanical installation

scenarios.

Redundancy and fault tolerance: It can be combined with other speed modules to achieve a three-to-two (200.3)

redundancy configuration, enhancing system reliability.

Key phase measurement: Through the keyway or marked teeth on the gear disk, a mechanical rotation phase reference

is provided for vibration analysis and dynamic balancing.

Zero-speed detection: Accurately identify the shutdown status of machinery to prevent equipment damage due to

misstart-up or abnormal shutdown.

Signal processing: Built-in filtering, amplification and anti-interference circuits to reduce the influence of

electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI).

Vi. Key Points for Selection and Use

Sensor matching

Magnetoresistive sensors are suitable for ambient temperatures ≤120°C, while eddy current sensors are suitable for

high-temperature (≤260°C) or non-contact measurement scenarios.

Tooth number setting: The module needs to configure the number of gear teeth through configuration software (such

as ProVision). Incorrect setting will lead to deviation in the calculation of rotational speed.

Redundant configuration: Supports the formation of a three-on-two (200oo3) redundant system with other speed

modules (such as 3500/53) to enhance safety.

Wiring requirements: The sensor cable should use shielded twisted-pair cable, and the cable length of the eddy

current sensor should be ≤300 meters (depending on the model).
